About This Product

These student-led IEP meeting slides give a student a 15-slide editable deck to customize and present at their own IEP meeting: who is here, strengths, goals in their own words, how it is going, accommodations, plans for education, work, and living, supports, questions for the team, and a thank-you.

Why I made this: A lot of the students I have coached know more about themselves than they can say in a room full of adults. Their own slides on the screen give them something to point to and an order to follow. They also walk out with a deck they can update next year instead of starting over.

What's included:
• 15 editable slides (widescreen): My IEP Meeting, Who Is Here Today, A Little About Me, My Strengths, What I Am Working On, How It Is Going, Accommodations That Help Me, Accommodations I Want to Talk About, three My Plan After High School slides (education and training, work, living), Supports I Still Need, Questions I Have for My Team, Thank You, and a blank My Own Slide
• Gray [type here] prompts on every slide so the student types over them in their own words
• A short speaker note on each slide with a tip for the student
• Picture boxes for the student's own photos or icons
• Teacher notes PDF (4 pages): setting up the file, a 3 to 4 session build plan, coaching tips, ways students can take part, and a slide planner

How I use it: Give the student their own copy. Build it with them over three or four short sessions, keeping their words on the slides. Most students keep 8 to 12 slides and delete the rest. Practice once with you, once with someone else, and once in the meeting room if you can.

What you download: one ZIP with the editable PowerPoint file (.pptx, 15 slides, widescreen) and a 4-page teacher notes PDF. Open the deck in PowerPoint, or upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides.

Real meetings vary. Always follow your district policies.
