Organize personal, educational, and experiential information into standard resume sections.

Write a concise one-sentence career objective statement.

Select relevant work, club/sport, and volunteer experiences and describe them in 2-3 sentences each.

Have students create their own resume in a separate document using the instructional template and fictional example as guides.

Use the completed example to discuss what makes an objective statement or activity description effective.

Point out that a heading with no applicable experience (e.g., no awards) should be omitted rather than left blank.
