The Water Cycle word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this water cycle puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids could say "evaporation" but kept mixing up condensation and precipitation every single time. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection, runoff, groundwater, transpiration, water vapor, cloud, and cycle. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the order finally stick in their heads.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "condensation" or "transpiration." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple raindrop and sun drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw the whole water cycle on the back and label each step. The kids actually ask for these now.
