Two Step Word Problems 3rd Grade - No Variable - Find Constant

This maths worksheet for 3rd grade is about worded questions where we build towards the concept of equations. Students essentially solve worded questions equivalent to two step equations without having to write down the actual equation or understand the concept of variable.

The worksheet starts with an example that is separated in a box. After that we have questions that are mathematically similar to the example, but are phrased slightly differently, so that students get stronger to spot underlying mathematical concepts in worded questions. There are 8 questions of which most are scaffolded (two steps). Note that while all these questions look for an unknown constant there are similar worksheets that look for other parts of equations that might be unknown. Repeating the same question is a good starting point especially for students who find worded questions difficult or have SEN.
