This kangaroos reading comprehension contains the following: Visualize on the Cover (Teacher Read Aloud Script) Start your lesson by taking a few moments to visualize the topic and share thoughts or feelings about it. Pre-Reading Trivia Students will write down one thing they already know about the subject and then read five more facts and discuss. These facts are fun, and the students will enjoy learning about the subject before reading more. Reading Passage The text is a high-interest reading passage with set paragraphs, roughly three to four paragraphs long. It contains a variety of themes about the topic, anywhere from history to technology. The passage is between 250 and 350 words in length. Mixed Questions The first question page contains four multiple-choice questions, each with a choice of four answers, and three written response questions that require a sentence or two from the student. Vocabulary Questions Practice seven key words from the text in this section across two activities. First section is scrambled words where students will unscramble three words given a clue for each. The second section is a word to meaning matching activity. Creative Writing In this question, the student will be required to write a five to eight sentence paragraph on a question related to the topic. Extension Activities This page is optional for fast finishers or to take home. There are several activities, each one requiring a different skill. Letter F Puzzles

Introducing Letter F Puzzles, a differentiated letter recognition resource for preschool and kindergarten students. This activity allows young learners to practice letter formation while having fun completing letter F puzzles. Students will color two 12-piece capital and lowercase F puzzles along with two 9-piece capital and lowercase letter F puzzles. After coloring, they will cut out their letter F puzzle pieces and glue them onto the letter F puzzle mat to complete the puzzles. Finally, students will practice writing the letter F by tracing it at the bottom of the page. Teachers can implement these letter F puzzles in small groups, centers , morning work, sub plans, or independent practice. The puzzles assess skills like letter recognition, fine motor skills, handwriting, matching, and cutting. This no-prep activity only requires teachers to provide markers, crayons, scissors, and glue. Alternatively, teachers can laminate colored puzzles for students to complete again and again.

This diving reading comprehension contains the following: Pre-Reading Trivia Students will write down one thing they already know about the subject and then read five more facts and discuss. These facts are fun, and the students will enjoy learning about the subject before reading more. Reading Passage The text is a high-interest reading passage with set paragraphs, roughly three to four paragraphs long. It contains a variety of themes about the topic, anywhere from history to technology. The passage is between 250 and 350 words in length. Mixed Questions The first question page contains four multiple-choice questions, each with a choice of four answers, and three written response questions that require a sentence or two from the student. Creative Writing In this question, the student will be required to write a five to eight sentence paragraph on a question related to the topic. Extension Activities This page is optional for fast finishers. If there are five to ten minutes left at the end of the lesson, the student can choose one of three activities, each one requiring a different skill. Answer Key There are answers for the multiple-choice questions and three written response questions have sample answers. ABC Spelling, Writing and Matching Activity

This resource is an ABC Spelling, Writing and Matching Activity. It is a great printable for your preschool and kindergarten students. You may also find it helpful for your 1st grade students who need additional support. There are 7 pages included in this resource. To complete pages 1-5, students will need to cut out the letters on page 7. Page 7 consists of all 26 letters of the alphabet. These are all uppercase letters. Students will cut these out first. Then they will match the uppercase letter to the correct lowercase letter. Each time they match a letter, they should trace and say the corresponding word. If you want to make this a reusable activity, you can print and laminate the pages. You could adhere Velcro dots to the letter pieces and pages 1-5, so students can attach the uppercase letters to the correct lowercase letters. They could use a dry erase marker to trace the words. This will build their fine motor skills as they practice grip with other writing tools, besides a pencil. When you transform it into a reusable activity with laminated pages, it easily becomes a center activity or an early finishers activity. Page 6 will be a page in which they can trace the letters of the alphabet all at once, capital letters and lowercase letters. This could also be printed and laminated as well to create a reusable activity. Students will practice reading, writing, spelling and tracing all in one resource. Each of these can be used for centers, small groups or even placed in a substitute folder.
