Use this fun writing prompt style to provide limitless writing prompts for your class. All you need to supply is the dice and print this resource. Each student will get a copy of the resource and can share the dice (or you can post the resource on the board or at your writing center). Students will roll the dice THREE times to get a character, problem and setting for their story. You will never have to hear someone complaining they don't have any ideas anymore! This writing prompt strategy gives students the tools they need to start a great story and their imagination will take them from there. Giving students the main character, plot and setting helps to inspire other ideas. Also, students can use the chart and look at the ideas next to the numbers they did not roll to further spark some imaginative inspiration. The possibilities are endless with this creative writing style. Once you have exhausted all writing options, have you students create a chart similar to the one provided in this resource. They can come up with their own sets of characters, plots, and settings for a classmate and see what creative writing they can come up with as a team. This product is great for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th graders. Students practice the skill of alphabetical order. This is a skill that we often think of with just primary students. But I've found a lot of 3rd graders struggle with this concept. Students practice writing words in ABC order. The pages are organized into 11 different themes to be used throughout the school year. These can be used as practice or for a quick assessment. The themes are: Back to School, Colors, Sports, Vehicles, Holidays, Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter, Christmas, and Summer. Each theme has two different options to complete depending on your students' levels. You could choose to just complete one of these options. OR, you could give one option to some students and the other option to others. OR, you could give the option where the words are separated into 4 categories first. You could complete this whole group, or students could complete it in small groups. At a later time, you could then give the option of all of the words together as an assessment!
