Fall Alphabet Memory Game – Uppercase ABC Cards ABC Picture Cards for Letter Recognition and Word Building This fall alphabet memory game is made with uppercase letters only, from A to Z. Each card shows one bold capital letter together with a simple fall picture, such as B with bat or P with pumpkin . I started using it at the beginning of the school year when my kindergarten class was just learning capital letters, and it quickly became a favorite activity. There are six complete decks of 29 cards each. I like having more than one set because I can give different groups their own deck and avoid cards getting mixed together. The most common way we use the cards is as a memory game, where children flip them over and look for pairs. But there are many other options: putting the alphabet in order on the rug, matching letters I call out, or using a single card as a starting point for a quick word game. The focus on uppercase only makes this resource useful for beginners. Students who are still getting comfortable with print can concentrate on learning one letter form at a time. English learners also benefit from the clear images, since they can connect the picture with the letter sound without feeling overwhelmed. Preparation is simple. Print, cut, and, if you want the cards to last, laminate them. I store mine in small envelopes so they are easy to grab during literacy centers, small group rotations, or as an option for early finishers. The autumn theme makes them seasonal, but the skills they reinforce—recognizing uppercase letters, matching letters with sounds, and developing early vocabulary—are important throughout the year. In the "Sorting Non-Identical Fruit" - by fruit or by color - activity , the learner will have the opportunity to improve their visual discrimination and categorization skills. The activity consists of a set of fruit activity cards, each depicting a different type of fruit, and six corresponding sorting cards for each fruit. There are also color cards where the learner can sort the various fruit by their color. Each individual sorting card will feature a picture of the same type of fruit, but with subtle differences in color, size, and shape. The learners will need to carefully examine the sorting cards and use their critical thinking skills to sort them into the correct group based on the corresponding fruit activity card or by the color card This activity is not only fun and engaging, but also provides an early math foundation by introducing sorting and grouping concepts CATEGORY AND FEATURE. By engaging in hands-on sorting and grouping of non-identical fruits, students can develop important cognitive skills such as attention to detail, observation, and reasoning. SEL Boom Deck-What Can I Control and Not Control? Audio and Handout!

In this SEL Boom Deck, students will learn about things they can and cannot control. This is an important skill in self-regulation, relationship skills, and self-awareness. There is audio for each card so reading is not required. There are 46 Boom cards and 43 are task cards. The first 3 cards go over the concepts and the directions. Some of the in control examples are; a child is bored in class, a child make a choice that got them late for school, a child raised his hand to ask for help, a child studied for a test and did well on it, a child took something after someone dared them too, and many more. Some examples for the out of control concept are; a child's balloon was popped from a tree branch, there was a thunder storm, a family is moving, a child is walking in the rain, a child got a toy grabbed by another class member, a child is stuck in traffic and worried they will be late, a child did not get the lead role in a play, and more. After students participate in the Boom deck, they can write and draw their own examples of things they can and cannot control. There is a also a cute airplane that students can color and draw themselves being the pilot of their own plane (and mood, actions, feelings, etc.) This Boom deck can be something students do whole group (there enough cards for each student to do an example) or in centers , or you could assign this individually for homework. If there is an example of someone caught in a situation that causes them to feel upset regardless of whether they can or cannot control it, students are prompted by another card to help the person in the example feel better and do some things that they can control to help themselves. Identifying and constructively expressing anger and other complicated feelings can be difficult for children. This anger meter resource is a simple yet effective tool allowing students to gauge and communicate their emotions. Using a 1-4 visual scale, kids rate where their anger level is at, facilitating self-awareness.
