Fall Alphabet Match Game Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Center Spot It Style Cards for Early Literacy This fall-themed alphabet game is a playful way for students to practice uppercase and lowercase letters. The activity is based on a “find the match” system: each card has exactly one letter in common with another card, and students have to be the first to spot it. I have used this kind of game format with kindergarten and first grade, and it usually gets the whole group involved quickly. The set includes 93 cards in total, divided into three different versions of 31 cards each. There are round cards, hexagons, and squares. I usually prepare the square version when I need something quick to cut, but the round cards feel more like a traditional game and always catch students’ attention. The hexagons are a nice option if you want a different look. Each card shows six pictures, with the letters hidden among them, so students have to focus closely to find the match. This type of activity works well for building letter recognition, both uppercase and lowercase. It also helps with visual perception, concentration, and taking turns in a group setting. In my classroom, I sometimes keep the game in a literacy center, and other times I use it as a quick warm-up before a reading lesson. It is flexible enough to use in small groups, partner work, or even as an early finisher option. The set also comes with tally sheets, which give students an extra chance to record their letters and practice writing. Some of my students liked keeping track of their matches this way, which turned the game into a mix of play and writing practice. Preparation is simple: print the cards, cut them apart, and laminate if you want them to last longer. Once made, they store easily in a small envelope or box and can be used again each fall. This resource is designed for kindergarten and the early grades, but older students sometimes enjoy it as a quick challenge too. Colorful Semantics is a Speech and Language therapy technique which uses color coded cards to help children to learn the important elements of a sentence,and how to join them together in the correct order. Colorful semanticsbreaks down sentences into their thematic roles and then color codes them to help children to learn the important elements of a sentence,and how to join them together in the correct order. The approach initially has 4 key color codes: subject is orange, verb is yellow, object is green and place is blue. As children progress in their understanding there are further stages for adverbs, adjectives and time. This set includes the black for ‘who to’ and ‘who with’, red for ‘what like’, purple for ‘how. and brown for ‘when’, this is to be used with children who have the basic concepts of sentence structure and are beginning to progress to more complex sentences. Colorful semantics is perfect for use with young children learning correct sentence formation or in specialist settings with children with special educational needs. This resource can be used as a learning aid during whole class literacy or on a small group or 1:1 basis. This resource is 5 sets of colour coded cards for what like, who to, who with, how and when. Stress Management Game played like Apples To Apples-Handouts

In this fun game, played similarly to the Apples To Apples game, students will read different stressful situations and choose a strategy they would use for that situation. There are 18 situation cards and 36 strategy cards. Each player draws 5 strategy cards (they do not show the other players which cards they have). The "judge" will draw a situation card and show the other players the card after reading the situation. For example, "You don't know the answers when taking a test." Then the other players will choose a strategy card they would use for that situation and place it face down to near the judge. The judge will read the different strategy cards and choose which one they would most likely choose. Important to convey to students: There is no "wrong" strategy, just a strategy that the judge would most likely use. Then for the next round, a different person is the judge and the game continues. the discarded strategy cards can get placed under the strategy pile. the person whose strategy was chosen, gets the situation card and also gets one point. This is a fun and engaging way to get students talking about different strategies they would use for stress management as well as different types of stressful situations they can manage if they need to. In this resource you will also be getting 2 mindful coloring handouts. This is a great way to finish the lesson after the game. I also like to begin this lesson by introducing a Brain Pop on stress. You can also choose a short video of your choice or a book about stress to prime the students' brains about what stress is, possible triggers of stress and how to cope with stress. Then the game can be played and can reinforce the topic.
