This is great for students to practice with this drama and enhance their acting skills. This resource will include: - NOTES TO THE TEACHER - CAST DESCRIPTIONS - SCRIPT - MAP OF STAGE DIRECTIONS The Black History Heroes that students will act out: 1. Omega 2. DJ Kool Herc 3. Ruby Bridges 4. Claudette Colvin We hope that you and your students enjoy it as much as we do. Below are some notes and ideas on how to use this product: 1. This script DOES NOT require students to perform in any traumatic contexts and/or roles and does not intend to trivialize any traumatic events. All roles occur years after the historical figures have overcome traumatic experiences. This script features commentary about the accomplishments of these historical figures despite the traumas that they faced. 2. This play runs for about seven to ten minutes. 3. Omit certain words in the script if necessary to make performing the roles easier for students. Most students enjoy the challenge, but omitting words is a quick fix if needed. 4. Watch video 1 or video 2 of some students performing our other plays in this format to get some ideas for your students.
