Boost your middle and high school students' vocabulary skills with this educational tool that encourages them to master and utilize 35 sophisticated and distinctive words (sourced from previous SAT Writing & Language exams). This is achieved through engaging bell ringer tasks and a comprehensive science fiction writing task to summarize their learning. Teaching this resource is simple! Start it by presenting a new word at the start of each class period with the included slideshow while students use note-paper or the accompanying Google Form to digitally submit their own sentence using the day's word. When you have exhausted the 35 words, hand out the Science Fiction writing assignment, which includes planning and drafting activities, a peer edit, and Common Core rubric! Your download is crafted to kick off a class session within the timeframe required for attendance recording and includes: - A PowerPoint presentation with 35 slides.
