EE Phonics Worksheets: 5 FREE!
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

5 FREE EE Phonics Worksheets — For 5–6-Year-Olds and ESL/EFL Learners Teaching phonics effectively doesn't have to mean hours of preparation. These ready-to-use worksheets have been designed with busy parents and teachers in mind — clear, purposeful, and straightforward to pick up and use from the first session. This free sample pack contains five worksheets focusing on the CK spelling pattern. While the sound itself is introduced early in most phonics programmes, these worksheets are pitched at a higher level — they expect more of the pupil. The activities are designed for children who are ready to work with greater independence, handle more on a page, and apply what they know rather than recognise it. That makes them equally well suited to higher-achieving five and six-year-olds and to older ESL and EFL learners working through English spelling conventions for the first time. Each worksheet has been carefully structured to build confidence and reinforce learning through focused reading and spelling practice, with some comprehension work included where appropriate. The clean, uncluttered layout keeps the emphasis on the sound and the task. Suitable for: Home educators Classroom teachers Tutors SEN teachers ESL and EFL teachers Working at grades: Year 1 / Grade 1 / Ages 5–6 (higher-achieving), and older ESL/EFL learners. Eco-friendly printing Black and white throughout, so printing costs stay low. These worksheets sit alongside any phonics programme you are already using. Whether you are following a school scheme, home educating, or supporting a learner with additional needs, they slot in without disrupting your existing approach. Collect the series! adverbial clause of reason exercises

adverbial clause of reason exercises
Language Development, ELA, Grammar, Not Grade Specific, Worksheets & Printables

Introduction Something I kept noticing in my classes was that students had no trouble spotting because , since , and as in a text, but when I asked them to write their own sentences using those words, things got messy fast. Half the class would write a fragment. Others would use since and because interchangeably without thinking about tone or context. That's what pushed me to put this together — just a straightforward set of exercises where they can practice the same idea repeatedly until the structure feels natural. What Students Work On The whole packet focuses on adverbial clauses of reason. Students practice using because , since , and as to explain reasons inside complete sentences, not just underline them in someone else's writing. What's Inside Six exercise sections, all print-and-go: Completing sentences with the correct clause Multiple choice questions Matching sentence halves together Combining two short sentences into one using a reason clause Writing original sentences from scratch An answer key so checking work takes minutes, not an hour Who It's For I designed it with Grades 5–8 in mind, but it works well for any intermediate ESL/EFL learner who needs to get more comfortable with subordinating conjunctions and clause structure. Format Printable PDF, non-editable. Print it, hand it out, done.

ee or ea Phonic Game
ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Activities, Games

Pick the Apples — ea or ee Spelling Families Card Game: A game for 2 players A simple, fun board game I made to help children distinguish between ea and ee: two digraphs that sound the same but belong to different spelling families. Reading words with these sounds is straightforward once the patterns have been taught — but spelling is much harder. The child must remember not just the sound, but which family the word belongs to. Does feet use ee ? Does eat use ea ? This game gives children repeated, low-pressure practice sorting words into the right family, building the kind of memory that eventually makes correct spelling automatic. How to play: Each player takes a tree baseboard loaded with apple cards. Sound cards ( ea and ee ) and a couple of bad apple cards go into a feely bag. Picture cards are laid face up on the table. On each turn, a player draws a sound card from the bag and must find a picture card showing a word that contains that sound. A Word Bank Card is on hand for checking — the adult can help younger or less confident children locate the right word at first. A correct match lets the player keep the cards and move one apple from the tree to the basket. Draw a bad apple card, and the turn is lost. The first player to pick all their apples wins. Games make for stress-free learning! The bad apple cards introduce an element of luck that children love — and which serves a real purpose. When a child loses, it was the bad apple's fault, not theirs. For children who are used to struggling, that small thing makes a surprising difference. They stay in the game, stay relaxed, and the sorting and matching does its work quietly in the background. Useful for assessment too! Teachers will find the game useful for assessment too. Watch how the child approaches each picture card. Are they thinking about the sound and searching their memory for the right spelling family? Or are they recognising words by sight and hoping for the best? The answer tells you a lot about what to do next.

ai or a-e Phonics Game

ai or a-e Phonics Game
ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Activities, Games

This is a fun, print n' go phonic game to give pupils practice in the spelling and reading of words with ai or the split digraph a-e. Be the first to get to the moon as you find words to fit your rocket - either ai or the a-e words. Objectives This game helps children to learn which combination of letters are used to spell common words in the ‘ai’ and ‘a-e’ sound families. It also gives practice reading ‘ai’ and ‘a-e’ words. Who can use this game? Pupils who have learnt both the digraphs a-e and ai. It is excellent for reluctant learners, special needs, and just about all children. It can also be used with EFL/ESL learners. It can be used by teachers, parents, home educators and private tutors and any others who may find it helpful. For use with any phonic programme, including Read, Write Inc. and Jolly Phonics. How many players are required? This is a game for 2 players. What is included? Full instructions and teaching notes are included. There are 2 baseboards And a mixture of picture/word cards Simply print, cut out the pieces and play. How to play: Each player chooses a rocket baseboard, one for ai and one for a-e . A feely bag contains a mix of picture cards and word cards. Players take turns drawing from the bag. If the card drawn matches their pattern, they place the corresponding rectangular word card onto their rocket. If it belongs to the other player's pattern, it goes back. Picture cards are matched to their word cards before being placed; word cards are matched to their duplicate on the table. The first player to fill their rocket reaches the moon and wins.Chance is central to how the game works, and this is deliberate. Because the outcome depends partly on the luck of the draw, a child can win or lose without it reflecting on their ability. For children who have struggled with spelling and carry anxiety about getting things wrong, this shift matters enormously. They play to win, stay engaged, and absorb the pattern comparisons almost without noticing. For use with any phonic programme, including Read, Write Inc. and Jolly Phonics.

Future Simple Yes/No Questions Exercises and Answer Key

Future Simple Yes/No Questions Exercises and Answer Key
Grammar, Language Development, ELA, Not Grade Specific, Worksheets & Printables

Introduction I made this worksheet set after working with a group of students who kept mixing up word order whenever they tried to form yes/no questions in the future tense. They understood the grammar rule well enough when I explained it, but the moment they picked up a pen, things fell apart. So I put together these exercises to give them a chance to practice the same structure over and over, in slightly different ways, until it started to click. What Students Practice The main focus is forming yes/no questions with will and writing short answers — both affirmative ( Yes, he will. ) and negative ( No, she won't. ). These are small things, but students get them wrong constantly, and drilling them in a low-pressure worksheet format genuinely helps. What's in the Resource Six exercise sections, no prep needed on your end: Completing unfinished questions Unscrambling words to form correct questions Writing short affirmative and negative answers Choosing the right option in multiple-choice questions Finding and correcting errors in sentences A mixed activity that combines everything above An answer key is included so you're not spending extra time marking. Who This Works For I had Grades 5–8 in mind, but it works just as well for older ESL/EFL students who are reviewing the basics. It's simple enough to assign as homework or pull out as a last-minute filler activity. Format PDF, printable, non-editable. Print and hand it out — that's it.

These Feelings Word Search Worksheets give learners a chance to work with emotions vocabulary in a simple but slightly different way. Each worksheet includes 8 feelings pictures, but only 7 words are hidden in the puzzle. After finding the words, learners need to figure out which picture has not been used and write the missing word at the bottom of the page. The set includes 10 worksheets with different designs, while keeping the same activity format throughout. This makes the task familiar and easy to follow, but still visually fresh from page to page. The feelings vocabulary used in the worksheets includes common everyday words such as happy, sad, angry, scared, hungry, thirsty, tired, cold, hot, calm, excited, and more. What's included: • 10 printable worksheets • 10 different designs • Word search activities focused on feelings vocabulary • Missing word challenge on every page • PDF format This resource can be used with children learning emotions vocabulary and with English language learners. ING Suffix: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Kindergarten, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Reading Made Simple — Free ING suffix Phonics Workbook These little workbooks have been a quiet favourite with families using Reading Made Simple for some time now. Each one focuses on a single sound and prints on just one sheet of A4 paper — double-sided, folded in half to make a neat A5 booklet that children can hold and work through at their own pace. They are entirely optional. The phonics programme works perfectly well without them, but many parents and teachers find them a useful companion — either as structured practice or simply as a source of ideas to dip into when needed. Tested by real children: One 5-year-old user is quoted as having said, 'The worksheet is the best bit of my lessons!' Other parents have noted that their child likes the worksheet because 'they think it is easy'. When learning is broken down into small, achievable steps, with no curve balls to throw them off track, every child can say, 'I can read!' When I hear these reviews, I know that I have succeeded in my aim to write a phonics curriculum that can help children of all abilities learn to read and spell. These little workbooks are just one small part of what there is to offer. Please do check out the website for more information. Each workbook offers a gentle mix of activities built around the target sound. Children will read short passages that practise the new sound alongside words from sounds already taught, track and identify the sound within words to support both reading and spelling, practise spelling and sentence writing, and work through simple editing exercises where they spot and correct mistakes. These small editing tasks are particularly worthwhile — they encourage children to look carefully at words rather than guessing from context. The workbooks are particularly well-suited to younger children just beginning their phonics journey, and to older children with special educational needs who are still building their foundational reading and spelling skills. That said, they will not suit every child. Some will find them too long, others too straightforward. Use your own judgement — pick the activities that fit, leave the rest, or set them aside entirely. There is no obligation and no right or wrong way to use them. To print: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge. Fold in half to create your A5 booklet. The answer page at the back is optional. One sheet of paper. One sound. Everything a child needs to practise, consolidate and grow in confidence.

It explains the difference between the two strategies: Camouflage helps insects blend into their surroundings so predators do not notice them. Examples include stick insects, leaf insects, and katydids. Mimicry helps insects look like something else, either something dangerous or something tempting. Examples include hoverflies that look like bees or wasps, and mantises that imitate flowers or dead leaves. The passage also explains how these disguises work because predators make quick decisions based on color, shape, motion, and patterns.
