There are 3 measures for scoring in the first semester: 3 – Good 2 – Fair 1 – Needs improvement Students writing skills will be measured on 4 sections in the first semester: Student writes name on paper. Student begins sentence with a capital letter. Student has spaces between words. Student forms letters correctly. Students writing skills will be measured on 4 sections in the second semester: Sentences (conveys meaning in written form) Conventions (finger spaces, capitals, punctuation) Illustration Handwriting There are 4 measures for scoring in the second semester. This writing rubric is an effective way to data track your students’ writing skills. You can easily keep these rubrics organized and can even attach pieces of written work to them for evidence.
