The Immune System word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
The Immune System word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this immune system puzzle set for my 4th graders during our human body unit. The kids knew getting sick meant a fever or a runny nose but had no idea how their body fought off germs or what white blood cells did. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like immune system, germ, bacteria, virus, white blood cell, antibody, fever, infection, vaccine, lymph node, pathogen, fight, protect, sickness, and health. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick without scaring them. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a vaccine prevents or cures a disease. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple shield and germ drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two ways the body fights germs on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Farm Animals and Their Sounds word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Farm Animals and Their Sounds word search, scramble and crossword ⭐ I made this farm animals and sounds puzzle set for my K-2nd graders when we were learning about farms in the spring. The kids kept mixing up which animal makes which noise, so I turned it into a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword. Words include cow, horse, pig, sheep, chicken, duck, goat, plus sounds like moo, neigh, oink, baa, cluck, quack, and bleat. Nothing complicated. ⭐ The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is easy and good for a quiet warm-up. The scramble gets them laughing because they spell "oink" wrong half the time. The crossword is simple enough for most kindergarteners with a little help. I added small barn and animal drawings but kept it clean. ⭐ Works for Pre-K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have kids pick one animal and draw its sound bubble on the back. They love that part. Way better than another worksheet.

Daily Routines Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this daily routines vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our morning meeting and life skills unit. The kids could tell me what they did each day but had no idea what words like routine, morning, or evening meant when we talked about daily schedules. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the daily routine vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. Holiday & Seasonal, Reading, ELA, Vocabulary, Language Development, Not Grade Specific, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Word Searches
Spring Word Search Puzzle Worksheet Spring Word Search - Seasonal Classroom Fun! I made this cheerful word search when my second graders were getting spring fever last March. It's filled with 24 sunny words like "bloom," "butterfly," and "rainbow" to get kids excited about the new season. All words are hidden up, down, and sideways - just challenging enough for grades 1-3. What's included: • 2 printable pages (puzzle + answer key) • Bright spring-themed words • Bonus drawing activity on page 2 • Clear, easy-to-read font Mrs. Thompson from Sunnyvale School said: "This was the perfect activity for that first warm spring day when the kids couldn't focus!" My students especially love finding "puddle" and "umbrella" - they always start sharing stories about rainy day adventures. Great for: • Seasonal March/April lessons • Science units on weather/plants • Indoor recess on rainy days • Early finishers • ESL spring vocabulary Word examples: sunshine, flower, nest, grow, grass Teacher tip: Have students act out the words they find - watching them "hop" like bunnies never gets old!

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Grade 4 Greek and Latin Prefixes word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Greek and Latin prefixes puzzle set for my 4th graders during our vocabulary unit. The kids could memorize word meanings but had no idea that prefixes like "un," "pre," and "re" could change the meaning of a word, or that many prefixes come from Greek and Latin origins. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using prefixes like un (unhappy, undo), re (rewrite, replay), pre (preheat, preview), dis (dislike, disagree), mis (misplace, misbehave), sub (submarine, subzero), trans (transport, transform), and bi (bicycle, bilingual). I also included key terms like prefix, root, and meaning to help them understand the structure of the words . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the prefix concept finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "bicycle" or whether "un" and "re" are both prefixes (they are—they always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a prefix anchor chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the definitions and examples . I added a couple simple plus and minus symbol drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers add a prefix to a base word and write the new meaning on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Poisonous vs Nonpoisonous Plants word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this poisonous vs nonpoisonous plants puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our plant and safety unit. The kids were super curious about which plants were safe to touch or eat after we talked about poison ivy and mushrooms, so I wanted to give them a way to practice the key vocabulary. I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like toxic, nonpoisonous, edible, inedible, irritant, allergy, rash, contact, ingestion, and identification. I also included the names of a few common culprits like poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and oleander, plus safer examples like dandelion and clover. Nothing fancy—just puzzles to help the safety vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between poisonous and venomous. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a safety lesson. I added a couple simple leaf, berry, and warning symbol drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one poisonous plant from the puzzles and draw a "don't touch" warning sign for it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the three tenses finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. Human Rights Leaders word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Human Rights Leaders word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this human rights leaders puzzle set for my 4th graders during our social studies and biography unit. The kids could name Martin Luther King Jr. and maybe Nelson Mandela, but they had no idea about the incredible diversity of human rights leaders who have stood up for justice, from different countries, backgrounds, and time periods. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using names like Martin Luther King Jr. , Nelson Mandela , Malala Yousafzai , Desmond Tutu , Mahatma Gandhi , Sima Samar , and Eleanor Roosevelt . I also included key human rights terms like equality , justice , freedom , dignity , nonviolent , activist , solidarity , and universal because they show up in every conversation about rights. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "Yousafzai" or whether Gandhi was from India or South Africa (he was from India, but his activism started in South Africa). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched short biographies or read picture books about these leaders. I added a couple simple dove, fist, and globe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. It's a straightforward 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled plant science terms that students actually use during experiments - words like "roots," "sprout," and "chlorophyll." The words range from easy ("leaf") to challenging ("photosynthesis") to keep all my students engaged. I printed them on green paper to match our plant theme, and the kids worked on them while waiting for their bean seeds to germinate. You'll find: • Page 1: The scramble activity with clear, kid-friendly font • Page 2: A simple answer key for quick checking I use this when: Introducing our plant unit Needing a meaningful time-filler Preparing for our greenhouse field trip The words reflect real classroom experiments - "measure," "grow," "data" - not just textbook terms. Last year, my students got especially excited unscrambling "magnifying" right before we examined leaves up close. Format: Basic PDF (2 pages) Tip: Have students circle three words they want to use in their lab notes!
