The words aren't written on these worksheets, so it requires listening and deciphering letter sounds in real-life words. These are great independent activities as students learn each letter of the alphabet. These pair well with a preschool letter of the week program! How To Use This: Print the page that coordinates with your focus letter. You can choose to let your students color the pictures or just jump to sorting. Have them color or circle the things that begin with the featured letter and letter sound. Then have them cross out the things that don't use the featured letter at the beginning of the word. Have them say the word out loud several times and pay close attention to all the sounds they hear! This is an excellent listening phonics practice activity . This worksheet can be done independently or in small pairs as they work together to listen to the sounds in the words. It can also be used for early finishers, in centers, or to send home as homework.
