In this product, you will get 10 mindfulness coloring pages. There is something for everyone in this product. The images are; panda, sun & nature scene, sports, sloth, relax, breathe, monster friends, sea turtle, brain, and the peace symbol. These are great for the young and old and everyone in between. Use these as a way to calm down students at the end of a lively lesson or to use them as a brain break. In my practice as a full-time school counselor for grades kindergarten through 8th grade, I can honestly say I have used these with kindergarten through 8th grade. These are even appropriate for high schoolers. I have used them for small groups, after a guidance lesson, in a social emotional discussion with a large group of students to help them stay centered on the topic and one on one with students. These could also be used when students finish their work, during quiet time, used in a calm down corner or reset corner in the classroom or as extra activities for the classroom. Who doesn't love a mystery? In this SEL mystery mosaic pack, students will receive a total of 5 mystery mosaics related to a social-emotional skill. There are also 2 bonus puzzles, 1-word search, and 1 maze. The SEL topics are; calming down, paying attention, things you can control, making friends, and solving problems with friends. These can be fun activities to reinforce after a lesson, introduce a skill, or just for free time. The mystery mosaics can be done with younger students (K-2) and the maze and word search may be more appropriate for 3rd and 4th. The answers are in the slide notes. Although I would recommend you print these off for the off-screen and coloring benefits, the mystery mosaics can be done digitally through Google Slides (with the fill-in tab at the top) but remove the answers in the slide notes. The word search and maze are best suited to be printed out.

How to Write an Email Bundle: Vocabulary Handout and 5 Sample Scenarios is a great resource as it contains 5 different guides to write polite emails. We spend so much time in the classroom teaching our students creative writing and essay writing, but when they have careers in the future, what kind of writing will occupy most of their day? Emails of course! In this assignment five specific kinds of email that high school students may need to write are high-lighted and explicitly explained. This product contains a useful one-page handout with all the necessary vocabulary to get started with emails. Then, 5 realistic scenarios that high school students might encounter now or in the coming years are included. For each scenario, rules of thumb are suggested, and a specific email task is assigned. - Emailing a teacher/coach - Emailing a job application - Emailing a potential reference - Emailing an apartment listing - Emailing a postsecondary institution How to use: Use the handout to teach your students the key vocabulary components of every email: to, carbon copy, blind carbon copy, subject, salutation, body, signature, attachments, compose, forward, reply, and reply all. This financial literacy lesson uses information from Canada’s Consumer Price Index. Students: - watch a video and take notes to learn what the Consumer Price Index is, how it is calculated, and what it is used for - learn how to do a simplified inflation calculation (no compounding): This involves order of operations, fractions, division, and percentages written in decimal form - calculate inflation on a practice weighted ”basket” of goods - calculate the true inflation on eight everyday items since 2019: using the internet to check the current year's prices This lesson could easily work in American classrooms too, as the concepts are the same. Just ask your students to research prices in Canada (online) when doing the comparison to maintain consistency. Math Skills Required: Students need to understand percentages written as decimals. The calculations involved require subtraction and division and can be done with a calculator. Answer Key Included Grades to Use With: This lesson is designed to be accessible to students in any high school math, life skills, business, or economics class. It also could be used in grade 7 to address proportional relationships, ratios, and percentages. Standards: CCSS7.RP.A.3 Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems. Examples: simple interest, tax, markups and markdowns, gratuities and commissions, fees, percent increase and decrease, percent error. CCSSMP4 Model with mathematics. Mathematically proficient students can apply the mathematics they know to solve problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace. In early grades, this might be as simple as writing an addition equation to describe a situation. In middle grades, a student might apply proportional reasoning to plan a school event or analyze a problem in the community. By high school, a student might use geometry to solve a design problem or use a function to describe how one quantity of interest depends on another. Mathematically proficient students who can apply what they know are comfortable making assumptions and approximations to simplify a complicated situation, realizing that these may need revision later.
