A beautiful nature journaling set for children. Youngsters can combine pre-painted characters (bears, a squirrel, autumn nuts, berries, and leaves) with the stunningly illustrated background scene. The scene has plenty of space for children to add their own drawings and writing to create wonderful journal pages to treasure. This set ideally lends itself to the study of animals in autumn and how they prepare for winter, record observations in nature around you, or combine with study from books and objects. The sheet of illustrations makes ideal additions to autumn displays. To create a tactile finished item I highly recommend printing onto high-quality paper, I like to use watercolor paper as this also allows the children to add their own paintings to the pages they create and means that every piece looks and feels like an original painting.

Alkali Metals Concept Wheel – Interactive Chemistry Activity for Grades 7–10 Learn Alkali Metals - visual learning 🧪🧠 This concept wheel is a practical way to help students understand the alkali metals in Group 1 of the periodic table. I first made it for a grade 8 class that was struggling with the idea of chemical families. Instead of giving them another chart to copy, I tried this wheel activity, and it worked much better because they could see and handle the information piece by piece. The wheel has eight sections that cover the basics: general properties, reactivity, how these elements appear in nature, and some everyday uses. Students cut out and arrange the pieces to build the full circle. The activity takes a little bit of preparation, but once the pieces are made, you can reuse them. I usually store the sets in small envelopes so they are ready for the next lesson. There are different versions included. Some circles are already filled in, which is helpful when introducing the topic for the first time. Others are blank, so students can write their own notes after a lab or reading assignment. I have used the blank ones during review sessions, and students liked comparing their wheels with a partner’s version. It also gives them a sense of ownership over the material. The wheel can be used in many ways: as a warm-up before a lab, as practice during a unit on the periodic table, or as a review before a quiz. It works for group tasks, but I have also had students complete it on their own. When the wheels are finished, they make a clear visual display for the classroom or for a student’s notebook. This activity is designed for grades 7–10 chemistry or physical science. 2D Shapes Dot Painting Worksheets

With these shape dot painting pages, students can practice forming 2D shapes by using cotton swabs. These dot painting pages provide a new, fun and unique way for preschoolers and kindergartners to practice recognizing different 2D shapes. The hands on nature of these dotting pages allow students to stay engaged as they learn about each 2D shape. What is Included: Each shape worksheet features the shape's name at the bottom for students to read or trace. The are 13 different shapes in this packet: rectangle, square, circle, oval, trapezoid, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, rhombus, diamond, heart and star. There are two different sets of shape dot painting pages. One dot painting page lets students trace the shape's name and the other simply names the shape. How to Use: Students will use cotton swabs to dot the perimeter of each 2D shape. If cotton swabs are not available, or the teacher wishes to use a different method, students can use their fingers to dot each circle or small stickers to cover each dot. Where to Use: Math or Art Center - Simply place these pages with cotton swabs and paint in the desired center for students to complete. Morning Work - These worksheets are perfect for students to work on while they wait for the rest of their classmates arrive to class. Quiet Time Activity - This is a great activity for non-nappers in a pre-k room to work on while their classmates sleep. Sub plans - These are great worksheets to leave for a sub, as they are easy to assign and students will love completing this activity ! Skills Assessed: These dot painting pages allow students to identify each 2D shape as well as practice fine motor skills while placing dots to outline each shape. In this SEL presentation, students will learn about the "core four" as a way to figure out how someone else is feeling. This is the building block of empathy and understanding how someone is feeling. This product has a 12 slide Google Slides Presentation with the last 4 slides as handouts and activities for the lesson plan. Students will understand that the core four is looking at the key 4 body parts; the eyes, eyebrows, mouth and hands. They will analyze 4 pictures of real people and guess how they are feeling based on the core four. After they analyze the real children, they will play a game of charades with partners or in groups. There are 6 different emotions to act out-each have an emoji as well as the feeling word. No reading is required. Then there are 2 extension SEL worksheets. One is identifying what people are feeling in a picture, they will circle the feeling word and write down which part of the core four helped them figure it out. The next handout is a fun Find the 9 Differences in an emoji picture. The answer is on the following slide. This lesson is good for pre-k, kindergarten, first and second grades. For 3rd Grade Health there are seven standards that need to be taught. Unit 1 Personal Health Unit 2 Growth and Development Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience. At the end of each unit, there is an assessment to test students’ understanding. In this unit, students will discuss and learn about healthy and unhealthy physical activities. They will discuss with the group what they think happens to their body when they are running, what causes our bodies to sweat and make our heartbeat faster and how long it takes for our bodies to recover. They will even perform some physical activities as a group and monitor what is happening to their bodies. Students will also read about healthy and unhealthy habits they do during the day. Such unhealthy habits they will read about include watching TV, playing video games, or laying around instead of doing physical activities such as skateboarding, swimming, and other activities that are good for our heart. There is a goal sheet included that will help students monitor how they can get more physical activity into their daily routines. After completing the goal sheet, they will compare it to other classmates and even improve on their physical goals that they want to accomplish. In the unit, there is a worksheet about making healthy eating habits. What foods kids should avoid like sugary sweets, greasy foods, chips and sodas. Student will discuss the consequences of eating unhealthy foods verses eating healthy options. Lastly, there is a worksheet on the importance of sleep. How much sleep kids need at their age and why it's important to go to bed on time each night. There are 13 pages included in all. In the end, there is an assignment to test for understanding. There are seven units that cover all the health requirements for 3rd grade. Perimeter of Regular and Irregular Polygons: Math Game Here’s a fun math game that incorporates critical thinking and math strategy. It could be a great addition to your geometry or measurement unit in grades 4-6. Students will practice drawing regular and irregular polygons with given perimeters. They will need to use math skills including addition, division, or knowledge of factors to determine how to make a specific kind of shape with a provided perimeter. This game is ready-to-go! Simply show the two sample rounds to your students to teach them how to play. Then each student needs a six-sided die and the three-page game. Students can play on their own or in small groups where they can share ideas. There are three rounds to play! A question to help students notice the strategy of the game is included. Students should notice that it is easier to make a regular shape if the perimeter is divisible by the number of sides of the shape. For example, to make a regular pentagon with the digits 5 and 1, I would make the perimeter 15 units, so each side could be 3 units long. A bonus question for early finishers is also included. ANSWER: A decagon has 10 sides. So, a regular decagon could easily have a perimeter of 10, 20, 30, 40 units. That could be hard in this game because the die does not have a zero.
