Passive Voice - English Grammar Series
ELA, Not Grade Specific, Activities, Worksheets & Printables
At first, passive voice might appear complex, but once you get acquainted with it, the fundamental structures stay the same. The ability to switch between passive and active voices is beneficial for intermediate to advanced English learners as it can prevent miscommunications, boost politeness, and enhance language abilities. This is a detailed explanation of the occasions where the passive voice should be used in the English language. Passive voice emphasizes the recipient of the action rather than the doer (agent) of the action. The passive voice is created by us using: The action was received by the object (by the doer of the action). Incorporating the part related to the agent (by + person who performed the action) is not mandatory and varies based on the situation. The aim of using passive voice is to highlight the action rather than the agent, therefore including information about the agent could be redundant or stating the obvious. This in-depth manual details the formation and usage of the Passive Voice, including numerous examples and practice exercises. The answer key can be located at the conclusion of the book.

English Language Arts Bell Ringers Unit 3 - 45 Warm-Ups (Grades 6-8)
Reading Comprehension, Reading, ELA, Strategies, Grade 6, 7, 8, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
These English language arts bell-ringers give middle schoolers a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 3 gathers 45 short prompts on Reading Informational Text, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. Each day asks something different - a term or academic word used in context, a few sentences to read and answer, a short analysis task, a quick check, and a question that asks students to make a claim and back it with evidence. The variety keeps the routine from going stale while still reinforcing main idea and supporting details, objective summary, text structure, author's purpose, point of view and bias, claims and evidence, evaluating an argument, comparing two sources, and context clues in nonfiction. Every reading passage in the set is original writing, so there is no third-party text to clear. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, and needs no accounts or devices. A full answer key and a standards page listing the Common Core codes the prompts actually exercise are included, so planning and grading stay quick. Designed for grades 6-8, the prompts work as a daily opener, a spiral review, or a settle-in task while attendance is taken. The routine is the point: the same five-minute opener every day, so students settle without being asked twice. It prints cleanly in black and white, which keeps a full class set cheap to photocopy. Each page stands alone, so a substitute can hand out the week without any briefing. The answer key makes grading quick, whether you collect the pages or review them together as a class. It works in person, hybrid, or remote, and fits a homeschool schedule just as well as a full classroom. No logins, accounts, or devices are required — just the printable PDF.
