Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
5 FREE CH Phonics Worksheets — For 5–6-Year-Olds and ESL/EFL Learners Teaching phonics effectively doesn't have to mean hours of preparation. These ready-to-use worksheets have been designed with busy parents and teachers in mind — clear, purposeful, and straightforward to pick up and use from the first session. This free sample pack contains five worksheets focusing on the CK spelling pattern. While the sound itself is introduced early in most phonics programmes, these worksheets are pitched at a higher level — they expect more of the pupil. The activities are designed for children who are ready to work with greater independence, handle more on a page, and apply what they know rather than recognise it. That makes them equally well suited to higher-achieving five and six-year-olds and to older ESL and EFL learners working through English spelling conventions for the first time. Each worksheet has been carefully structured to build confidence and reinforce learning through focused reading and spelling practice, with some comprehension work included where appropriate. The clean, uncluttered layout keeps the emphasis on the sound and the task. Suitable for: Home educators Classroom teachers Tutors SEN teachers ESL and EFL teachers Working at grades: Year 1 / Grade 1 / Ages 5–6 (higher-achieving), and older ESL/EFL learners. Eco-friendly printing Black and white throughout, so printing costs stay low. These worksheets sit alongside any phonics programme you are already using. Sight Word Fluency Packet - that
ELA, Reading, Preschool, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Sight Word Fluency Practice for "that" This resource provides three different fluency practice pages to help students learn to quickly recognize, spell, and read the sight word "that" in context. By repeatedly exposing students to the target sight word in meaningful sentences, these activities aim to improve word recognition, reading fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension. The fluency pages focus on essential literacy skills and include a reading passage to practice locating the word "that," a write/read activity where students write the sight word then read a passage containing it, and a read/write/draw page where students read a sentence with "that," copy it, then illustrate the sentence. These no-prep printables allow for differentiation and flexibility. Use them for literacy centers, morning work, homework, sub plans, or extra reading practice. The repeated activities are ideal for whole group, small group, partner, or independent work. Teachers can adjust the difficulty by allowing struggling students to simply locate "that" while more advanced students write it from memory. With multiple exposures to "that" in context, students gain experience connecting the sight word's meaning, usage, and spelling. The passages lend themselves to discussing vocabulary and comprehension. The drawing activity requires students to demonstrate understanding. This packet focuses on building fluency with the high-frequency sight word "that" through reading, writing, and illustration practice.

Integrated Science Bell Ringers Unit 2 - 45 Daily Warm-Ups
Biology, Life Sciences, Science, Grade 6, 7, 8, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
These integrated science bell-ringers give middle school students a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 2 gathers 45 short prompts on life science core, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. The set is written for schools that teach one general science course a year rather than a separate life science year, Earth science year and physical science year, so the strands are sequenced to live together in a single course instead of being split apart. Each day asks something different. Monday introduces a term and asks students to use it, not just recite it. Tuesday supplies two or three sentences of real science and a question that can only be answered by reading them. Wednesday poses an analysis problem or a short calculation, worked the way a scientist would work it. Thursday is a quick multiple-choice check a teacher can scan in seconds. Friday asks for a claim supported by evidence, which is the reasoning skill the standards care most about and the one students get the least practice with. That variety keeps a daily routine from going stale while still reinforcing cells and their organelles, cell transport and the membrane, photosynthesis and cellular respiration, levels of organization and homeostasis, the digestive, circulatory, respiratory, nervous and muscular systems, heredity, alleles and Punnett squares, DNA, reproduction and variation, and ecosystems and energy flow. The quantitative prompts were written deliberately so that every answer resolves to a whole number, which keeps a warm-up to five minutes and keeps the key beyond dispute. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, prints two-sided so a full week fits on one sheet, and needs no student accounts, devices, or logins. A complete answer key covers all 45 prompts, and a standards page lists the NGSS middle school codes and the CCSS literacy in science codes the set actually addresses. Designed for grades 6-8, the prompts work as a daily opener while attendance is taken, as an exit slip at the end of the period, as spiral review before a test, or as ready-made work to leave for a substitute. Teachers who want the whole course can buy the full-year set of 180 prompts, of which this unit is one quarter.
