Acorn Prepositions and Counting Book, Worksheets & Activities

About This Product

Frankie the squirrel is busy collecting acorns for the winter. In all of his scurrying to and fro he has forgotten where his tasty treats are hidden. Take your Pre-K and kindergarten learners on a journey to help Frankie find his acorns. In the book, Forgetful Frankie, learners will be introduced to prepositions as they identify where Frankie hides his acorns. Additionally, they will strengthen their knowledge of number words and counting 1-10. As a follow-up to the story, there are 8 worksheets focusing on prepositions and counting. These work great for whole class learning or as a learning activity in a small group setting. Most worksheets can also be laminated and used as a write-on/wipe off activity either at a learning center or as a one-on-one guided resource. The learning does not stop there fortunately. Two hands-on games incorporating fine and gross motor skills are also included. Your young learners will create acorns out of playdough to use as a counting activity. Then they will strengthen skills in listening and following directions when they pretend to be Frankie and hide acorns in the location (preposition) you instruct. The final activity will have all your learners excited and engaged. They’ll follow Frankie’s lead and play a fun “thumbs up/thumbs down” preposition game via the provided PowerPoint slides. This product will make a great addition to your Autumn ELA and math curriculum and will be a hit year after year. Along with the print and go worksheet format, an answer key is included.
