Animal Habitats word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this animal habitats puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our science unit on where animals live. The kids could name a few habitats but got mixed up when we talked about specific features like desert, ocean, rainforest, grassland, tundra, wetland, and forest. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using those words plus a few animals. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them practice.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "tundra" or whether "wetland" is one word. The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple tree and wave drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick one habitat and name an animal that lives there on the back. Easy.
