Body Parts word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
I made this body parts puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our health unit. The kids could point to their head and hands but had no idea what words like shoulders, knees, or toes were called in a puzzle. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like head, hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers, chest, stomach, back, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet, toes, and skin. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the body part names finally stick.
The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the elbow is above or below the shoulder. The crossword I use for partners with picture clues. I added a couple simple body outline and face drawings but nothing too busy.
Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers label five body parts on a drawing on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
