About This Product

A ready-to-run classroom treasure hunt that works in any room. Hide the linked clue cards, hand out the map, and watch teams race on staggered routes to crack a secret code. Movement, reading, and teamwork in about 20–30 minutes with almost no prep.

Each of the 15 clue cards leads to the next classroom spot — door, sink, bookshelf, teacher desk, pencil sharpener, and more. Every card hides one letter of a secret message. When students finish the loop, they crack the code (YOU ARE A TREASURE) and claim their reward. Staggered start orders for three teams keep groups from crowding the same clue.

Perfect for the first day of school, class parties, reward days, indoor recess, substitute days, end of year, early finishers, and anytime you need an active brain break that still builds reading and community.

What's included (16 pages, US Letter + A4 in the download):

  • Linked clue cards at two reading levels — 15 picture-supported cards for K2 and 15 riddle cards for grades 3–5

  • - Blank write-in clue cards for custom themes (print and write; not an editable PDF)

  • - Classroom treasure map for students plus a teacher hiding map with the full 15-spot loop

  • - Secret Code recording sheet for the crack-the-code finale

  • - Team badges and start-order sheets so Red, Blue, and Green teams begin at different clues

  • - Color and black-and-white certificates plus a treasure chest sign

  • - Teacher guide with five-minute setup, hiding order, variations, and full answer key

  • Why teachers use it: universal classroom spots so it works in any room; built-in differentiation with two reading levels in one purchase; print, cut, hide, and reuse all year with any theme. Cardstock is recommended for the clue cards.

  • Grades: Kindergarten through 5th. Subjects: Classroom Community, Reading, Critical Thinking. Resource type: Games / Activities / Printables / Task Cards. Format: PDF. Evergreen — not a holiday-only pack.
