Product description
From the author
We have so many new skills to teach our young learners, so ensuring that we can keep them engaged very early on is so important. Two ways to do this is by incorporating topics they are interested in and by providing them with hands-on activities.
This is a Counting Cars 1-10 Printable that is great for your preschool and kindergarten students. You can use this to introduce numbers 1-10 or review them for students who have already mastered number identification.
It is a 4-page printable. You may choose to print copies of each page for every student to complete. It may also be good to print and laminate and allow students to use dry erase markers to complete. Students will love getting to engage in an activity with an alternative writing tool, such as a dry erase marker.
On the first 2 pages, students will count the cars in each row and trace the number beside the car(s). The total number of cars goes to 10. On the 3rd page, students will trace numbers 1-20. On the 4th page, students will trace numbers in a backwards order 20-1.

Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Students count a group of objects (cars) and connect the count to a written numeral by tracing it, for numbers 1 through 10.
Students practice numeral formation by tracing numbers 1 through 20 in forward order.
Students practice numeral formation and sequence awareness by tracing numbers 20 through 1 in backward order.
Teaching tips
Laminate the pages and use dry-erase markers to reuse the set across multiple students or practice sessions, since all four pages are trace-based rather than write-in-ink activities.
Use pages 1-2 (counting) with students still connecting quantity to numerals, and reserve pages 3-4 (pure tracing) for students who already recognize numbers and just need numeral-formation practice.
Skills covered
One-to-one counting — students count rows of cars up to a total of 10 across the first two pages.
Numeral formation — all four pages have students trace numerals, reinforcing correct number-writing technique.
Number sequence — the forward (1-20) and backward (20-1) tracing pages build awareness of what comes next and what comes before in the counting sequence.

Questions teachers ask about this resource
Does this go beyond counting to 10?
Yes. After the two counting pages (1-10), the file adds a page tracing numbers 1-20 forward and a page tracing 20-1 backward.
