Easter Dog-Themed Coloring Cards –
A Fun and Relaxed German Activity
Every year around Easter, I like to bring a little extra creativity and fun into my German lessons. My students always love hands-on activities, so I created these dog-themed coloring cards to help them practice German words while having fun.
Instead of filling out another worksheet, students can color, decorate, and personalize their own Easter cards. They can add a simple German greeting or just enjoy designing something unique.
Many of my students like to give their cards to friends, parents, or teachers—and it’s always wonderful to see how proud they are of their work.
💡 In my own classroom, I’ve used these cards in different ways:
Some students enjoy coloring and chatting in German while they work.
Others like to write little Easter messages and exchange their cards.
A few even turn them into small gifts to take home.
It’s a simple, creative, and pressure-free way to introduce Easter vocabulary in German without feeling like another assignment.
Why My Students Love It
One thing I’ve noticed is that everyone works at their own pace with this activity. Some focus on the art side, some love practicing writing in German, and some just enjoy choosing their favorite dog design. It makes language learning feel natural rather than like a strict lesson.
How to Use It
All you need to do is print the pages and let the students decide how they want to use them. Some might color, others might write a message, and some might even create a little Easter display in the classroom.
If you’re looking for a way to bring a bit of Easter cheer into your German lessons while letting students express themselves creatively, I hope these coloring cards bring as much joy to your class as they have to mine!
📍 Best wishes,
