Guess the lyrics with a music word game built entirely on traditional songs, nursery rhymes and old favorites that children already sing, such as Jingle Bells, Yankee Doodle, Take Me Out to the Ball Game and Mary Had a Little Lamb.
Across two student pages, the game moves through five rounds that each ask for something different. Students write a missing word to finish a line, choose the real word from three options, spot a changed word and fix it, name a song from three clue words, and finally write their own four-line verse to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat. That adds up to 15 tasks, moving from simple recall to creative writing.
The answer key lists every answer alongside the full song line, plus a short guide for checking student verses. A teacher card suggests a quick team version to play aloud and a Hum it! partner round for early finishers.

Teaching tips
If some students do not know these songs, sing or play each one first. The key's Try it in class card suggests reading each line aloud and pausing at the gap for teams to call out the word.
Use the Hum it! round from the teacher card for early finishers: one partner hums a song and the other names it in three guesses.
Model the verse task by singing the example to the tune before students write, so they hear how the syllables fit the beat.
