Health and Hygiene word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
I made this health and hygiene puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our health unit. The kids knew they should wash their hands and brush their teeth but couldn't explain why or name other healthy habits. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like wash, soap, water, brush, floss, bath, sneeze, cough, tissue, cover, germs, clean, healthy, sick, and sleep. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the habits stick without being preachy.
The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how long you should wash your hands. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple soap, toothbrush, and tissue drawings but nothing too busy.
Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list three hygiene habits on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
