Health Careers Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this health careers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids knew about doctors and nurses but had no idea what other health careers existed like therapist, pharmacist, or paramedic. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like doctor, nurse, dentist, pharmacist, therapist, paramedic, surgeon, radiologist, optometrist, nutritionist, veterinarian, pediatrician, specialist, clinic, hospital, patient, medicine, care, help, and health. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the health career vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a veterinarian works with animals or people. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple stethoscope, bandage, and pill bottle drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one health career and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
