How Plants Grow word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this how plants grow puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our spring science unit. The kids could tell me a seed grows into a plant but kept mixing up words like germinate, sprout, and seedling. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like seed, soil, sun, water, root, stem, leaf, flower, germinate, sprout, and grow. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they fight over how to spell "germinate." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple seed and flower drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick a word and draw a picture of it on the back. The kids actually ask for these.
