About this resource

What's inside this resource

Multiplication facts for every factor from 2 through 9 are drilled first in an ordered "Multiplication Sets" layout, then reshuffled into several "Mixed Up" pages that recombine the same facts in randomized order, including pages that isolate just two factors at a time (2 and 3, 4 and 5, 6 and 7, 8 and 9) for more targeted practice. Later pages extend the drill to 11, 12, and 13 as factors, first in ordered rows and then mixed, before a final "ABCs of Multiplication" grid runs through every fact from 1×1 up to 12×12 in sequence. A complete answer key follows every drill set, giving the product of each multiplication fact in the same layout as the corresponding blank page. The repeated, timed-drill structure — the same facts appearing across ordered, mixed, and isolated-pair formats — is built for quick daily fluency practice rather than for teaching new concepts.

Teaching tips & learning objectives

Learning objectives

  • Students will recall multiplication facts for factors 2 through 9 with automaticity.

  • Students will apply multiplication fact fluency to extended factors 11, 12, and 13.

  • Students will complete timed multiplication drills accurately across both ordered and randomized item layouts.

Teaching tips

  • Use the ordered sets for initial practice on a specific factor, then move to the corresponding 'Mixed Up' page once students show fluency in sequence.

  • Reserve the 11-13 factor pages and the full ABCs grid for students who have already mastered facts through 9, since these extend well beyond typical grade-level scope.

  • Time each drill page and track completion speed over multiple sessions, since the repeated 'mad minute' format is designed for building recall speed rather than teaching new material.

Skills covered

  • Multiplication fact recall — students solve single-digit and low double-digit multiplication facts from memory under a timed format.

  • Fact fluency across formats — students apply the same multiplication facts in both sequential and randomized (mixed-up) presentations.

  • Extended factor practice — students multiply using factors 11, 12, and 13, beyond the typical 2-9 fact range.

Curriculum

Standards, concepts & topics

Standards

  • 3.OA.C.7 — Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.

Core concepts

  • multiplication facts

  • fact fluency

  • timed practice
