Point of View Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this point of view puzzle set for my 4th graders during our reading unit. The kids could tell who was telling the story but had no idea what words like first person, third person, or omniscient meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like point of view, narrator, first person, second person, third person, third person limited, third person omniscient, I, me, we, he, she, they, character, and outside observer. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the POV vocabulary finally click.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a story can switch points of view. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple eye and speech bubble drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a sentence in first person and the same sentence in third person on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
