This is a Let's Talk About Spring English / ESL Boardgame. All you have to do is print this game board and grab a pair of dice. The game board can be printed in color or black and white. This simple game board is great for your English-speaking students and your ESL students who are building their language skills in the English language. Students can work in pairs or groups of 3-4. You can also pull students in a small group with you to better assess their progress and mastery. These board games are great because they come in a variety of themes and topics, so students will be able to increase their vocabulary. You can choose to do a few different activities when you use these board games : 1. Students can take turns rolling the dice. They will move that many places on the board. Whatever space they land on, they can read the question out loud and answer it verbally with their partner or group. 2. Same as number 1, but the partner can answer the question instead of the person who rolled the dice. 3. Same as number 1, but both partners (or everybody in the group) can write their answer down on paper. 4. Same as number 1, but students can practice writing down the question and their individual answer to the question. This AM Word Family Sorting Activity is a great resource for your students to practice recognizing AM words and pictures in isolation. This sorting activity includes three different sorts for students to categorize AM family words in an engaging literacy center. Sorts Included in this Literacy Resource Sort words that are included in the AM family from words that are not included in the AM family. Sort pictures that represent words in the AM family from pictures that represent words not in the AM family. Sort between real and nonsense AM words. The teacher can easily differentiate these sorting activities for students who need more or less support to be successful in completing these sorts. How to Use: The teacher can create a file folder sorting activity The teacher can add magnets to the picture pieces and create a cookie tray sorting activity The teacher can place the cards and mats in a box for a simple sorting activity To assemble file folder activities, position the two sorting mats on each side of a file folder. Students will practice reading these CVC words in isolation as well as in context of a simple sentence or passage. What is Included: Word Fluency Strips - These three strips only contain AM words in isolation. Students will practice reading the words on the strips until words are mastered. Sentence Strips - The sentence strips contain AM words in the context of simple sentences. Sentence Fluency Worksheet - Students will read the simple sentences then pick one sentence to illustrate in the box at the bottom of the worksheet. Reading Comprehension Passage - Students will read the story containing AM words three times then answer two comprehension questions and draw a picture to illustrate the story. Sentence Pyramids - There are eight sentence pyramids where students will read each sentence, adding a new word on each line. How to Use: These activities word very well in a reading or phonics center for students to work on independently or with a partner. They make great small group activities. Teachers can pull aside small groups of students who need extra practice reading AM words with fluency. The sentence fluency worksheets and reading comprehension page can be utilized as homework to send home for students to complete.
