Within the pages of this product, you’ll find an interactive reader that will take your learners on an adventure with Tom and Bob. As they read through the book, not only will they strengthen their skills in identifying “short o” words, but they’ll also have the opportunity to make the book their very own. On each page are a set of instructions for readers to color or draw added features to the story. This helps them practice reading color words and identify prepositions. Best of all, they’ll be given a sense of ownership into their learning, causing them to be excited and engaged. Most words in the book are CVC words. An added challenge of reading “blends”is also included. Once your learners have reached the end of the book, they can move on to answer comprehension questions and work on other phonics focused material. Two hands-on learning games are included also. Upon completion of the worksheets and activities, you can present your learners with a crown that they can proudly wear to show others the ELA skills they’ve learned. To save you time, the worksheets in this product are print and go. With minor prep work, the learning activities can be used multiple times, year over year. An answer key is provided also. The approach initially has 4 key color codes: subject is orange, verb is yellow, object is green and place is blue. As children progress in their understanding there are further stages for adverbs, adjectives and time. This set includes the black for ‘who to’ and ‘who with’, red for ‘what like’, purple for ‘how. and brown for ‘when’, this is to be used with children who have the basic concepts of sentence structure and are beginning to progress to more complex sentences. These phonics clip cards for beginning sound make a wonderful bird fine motor literacy center for preschoolers and kindergartners. Students will gain practice in recognizing the beginning sounds of words as well as identifying beginning blends and digraphs using real photographic images. What is included: There are 22 beginning sound cards There is 4 beginning digraph cards There are 6 beginning blend cards The cards are differentiated for students who need more support in figuring out the beginning sound of each picture. One set includes the word typed out with the beginning sound, blend or digraph missing for the student to identify. The other set just has the real picture for the student to identify its beginning sounds. How to Use: Students will look at the picture on each clip card and say the word that is represented by the picture. The student will then use a clip to mark the correct beginning sound, beginning blend or beginning digraph. Once completed, the beginning sound clip cards and clips can be easily stored inside a task box. By storing in a box, the teacher can create an easy to set up and store literacy center . When to Use: Literacy Center - The teacher can place the clip cards and clips in a literacy center for students to complete independently or with a partner.
