What is included in this resource? This resource includes sets of printable snowflakes with CAPITAL LETTERS, lowercase letters, numbers, and sight words on them. It contains a printable pile for sorting the snowflakes, sorting labels, blank snowflakes for you to customize along with color and size snowflake printables. It also contains over 15 printable activity task cards that can be used for fun early literacy and math practice and review at home or at school. Tips for use: It is recommended that you print the snowflakes on cardstock so they will be more durable for re-use. You can even print them onto colored cardstock if you would like to! You can use a paper cutter or scissors to cut the snowflakes out into square cards rather than cutting around each snowflake. The include task cards can be used for individual, small group, center, whole group, and home practice activities. Children may enjoy using the printable pile or they may enjoy using real piles or bowls that you have handy for the suggested sorting activities. Suggested ways to use this resource include: Children and adults can use the included task cards along with the manipulatives included in this lesson to practice early literacy and math skills. Create a Snowflake Wall: Invite your child to use painters tape to place ABC, abc, number, and / or word snowflakes onto a window or large poster board. You can laminate each student's page or place them in a protective sheet so that they can stay nicely in their desks. Display the directions on the board or have them printed-out on large poster paper. Teaching the "Trace and Breathe" skill is essential to providing your students a structured way to practice mindfulness, control their heart rate and breathing, and transition from a high to a low-energy activity. The Trace and Breathe series can also be used as an essential piece to a calming corner in your classroom! Create a comfortable, calm space where your students can go when they need to cool down. Teach expectations around when it is appropriate for students to use this corner in the beginning of the year. Then, create a binder with lots of different designs the students can choose from. Place the directions to the Trace and Breathe activity on the wall near the calming corner. Then, as needed, students can visit the calming corner, pull-out the Trace and Breathe binder, pick a design that speaks to them, and engage in a moment of meaningful mindfulness!

Students will have many opportunities to engage in a Think Pair Share. Students will think about a question presented to them, pair up with a partner to discuss the question and then share out their thoughts as a whole group.
