Blossom Tree Craft
Creative Arts, Art, Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Not Grade Specific, Activities, Crafts

The Tree Blossom Craft is a fun resource for young children to complete; as part of science about trees/plants, to welcome spring, or simply to put into practice their fine motor skills! Ways to use the Tree Blossom Craft Activity: It can be used for art class, or for the study of trees/spring. It is best if the children's attention has been drawn to trees in blossom first as then the activity will be more meaningful to them. Work could then extend to the work of insects/ bees to pollinate the flowers - and then intrigue fostered to find out what happens next. A tree could then be studied and visited again to see the fruits appearing. The study of nature is the beginning of the study of science. A good teacher will take full advantage of every opportunity to guide her/his pupils to learn from it. Full Instructions for making a Tree in Blossom are provided The activity only needs simple resources, and it would be good if the children could help to gather twigs - or the teacher could bring them into class. You will need: Brown card Green Card Scissors Twigs Tissue paper: Pink, white and green PVA glue This activity is suitable for Grade K (Y1) and upwards. It is suitable for class/group or home education. Younger children could complete it with help. A total of 7 easy steps are included in the instructions. This activity is best implemented in small groups where the teacher, assistant, or parent is readily available to step in and help students. Older students may be able to work independently. During completion: name the parts of the tree such as trunk, branches, twigs, blossom/flowers. After completion: encourage students to name the parts of the tree while describing their own to each other. Children learn from repetition in different forms. What's Included 1 PDF Instructions and templates

Phonics Chart: Alphabet chart A Bright, colourful, phonetically correct alphabet chart ! A colourful A4-size alphabet picture chart to help children learn to recognise the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. Each letter has a picture of an object that begins with that sound. 2 font styles are included. When children are first starting to learn letter shapes and sounds, it is helpful to have a handy reference chart that the children can use to aid recall or letter shapes and a picture cue to the sound each letter stands for. There are many ways to use these charts: Wall reference Desk reference - give one to each child; special needs children especially find them helpful. Wall reference: a wall chart Play quick games: Put a counter on the letter that says /t/, for example, and play until all letters are covered. Cut up the squares and ask the children to lay the letters in alphabetical order. Activities: Write me the sound that ...teddy... begins with: can the child write the letter straight away without looking? Does the child look for the picture of the teddy? Use to assess. Can you tell me which object begins with the sound ...../h/, for example. The child looks for 'h' and says 'house'. Let the children use their charts as they complete worksheets/write/spell. Who is the phonetic alphabet picture chart for? All ages and abilities special needs children ESL, EFL learners, Who can use the phonetic alphabet picture chart ? Class teachers Parents Home educators Private tutors Anyone who needs it! What is included? 2, colour, A4 charts in PDF form, in the choice of 2 font styles, Primer Print, or my own kindergarten font, 'Vera'. I originally made this chart for a special needs kindergarten child with cerebral palsy; although he knew his letters and the associated phonic sounds, his recall was poor - he could know them one minute and they had gone the next. He loves using his chart and has made rapid progress since I made it. It gave him security.
