This 'ch, sh, th, ng PowerPoint is a taught lesson especially suitable for those who have special needs or need a slower pace. Special features of the PowerPoint lesson Totally phonetic No guessing! REAL READING! These lessons are intended to be watched with a teacher. These lessons conform to the standards of the phonics component of the UK Gov. National Curriculum for English. This PowerPoint is one of a series, teaching phonics systematically, to enable every child to succeed. No words are introduced that cannot be sounded out, except common the sight words. It does however presume that the child can blend both CVC words and consonant blend words with a short vowel sound, like pond. These have been taught in previous lessons. There are no distractions for the special needs child to have to 'block out' before s/he can learn - no jingly music, no comic pictures. Nothing moves quickly. Everything is explained very simply. Sound buttons are provided for use if necessary. What is included in/with the sh, ch, th, ng PowerPoint? This 'ck' PowerPoint is a narrated lesson. Playing the Game After the front slide the game begins. First rounds are easier with less pictures. Later rounds are harder with up to 9 pictures at the end. Teams will take it in turns to answer. Gameplay Taking round 1 as an example. Three pictures are shown. After 10-15 seconds they will disappear. Students are to try and follow at least one of these pictures. Click the go button to begin. The three pictures will mix between themselves and end in a different position. Team A goes first. Anybody in the team can answer. Say the number and then the word. Click on the card to see if the answer is correct - 1 point per correct answer. After Team A have answered. Offer the chance for Team B and subsequently C, D etc in order. to answer. Attempt to get all of the cards answered before moving on. Click on the arrow to continue to round 2 . If you ever need to replay a round, you can press the refresh button on the left side. As the game goes on, you may want to change the rules by allocating 2 words for each team to follow with bonus points if they can answer any other words.
