This High School Crafting a Dystopia: A Guide For Dystopian Fiction resource fixes that by acting as a step-by-step roadmap. It guides your teen from that first spark of an idea all the way to a polished short story. By breaking down the big, scary process of dystopian storytelling into bite-sized pieces, it turns a daunting project into an exciting adventure. Whether your teen is an aspiring novelist or just needs to build confidence in their creative writing, this guide gives them the exact structure they need without crushing their unique voice. I built every single page with the realities of homeschooling in mind. My goal is to completely change how your teen views storytelling, while giving you the peace of mind that you're using a reliable, high-quality resource. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: Instructional Guides: Step-by-step handbooks for world-building and plot development. Planning Tools: Concept maps and character profile worksheets for organized pre-writing. Writing Prompts: 20 specialized prompts designed to ignite the dystopian imagination. Assessment Pack: Peer review checklists and teacher rubrics for structured feedback. TOPICS COVERED: Dystopian Logic: Defining "Perfect Lies" and the mechanics of societal control. Character Arc: Developing protagonists through internal awakenings and meaningful flaws. World-Building: Using sensory details to establish atmosphere and settings. Ultimately, this High School Crafting a Dystopia: A Guide For Dystopian Fiction unit is all about helping your homeschooler find their voice and truly master short fiction. It balances clear guidance with plenty of creative freedom, giving young writers the perfect space to grow. The use of this material in the standard/mainstream classroom curriculum may not be appropriate for 7th grade students; however, it would be beneficial in some cases (i.e. gifted program, after school technology club) where there is evidence of interest and ability toward this subject. Special Resources, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Social Skills, Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, Teacher Tools, Lesson Plans, Worksheets & Printables, Writing Prompts

The Put-Down SEL Lesson An educational resource designed to instruct students on understanding and managing verbal and nonverbal put-downs. This comprehensive teaching tool is suitable for Grades 3 through 6, and includes an interactive presentation combined with innovative handouts. Presentation Structure A seven-slide presentation focuses on the rudimentary yet significant issue among school-age children - the use of disheartening words or gestures towards each another. During this spirited lesson, students as a group identify what constitutes a put-down in both verbal and nonverbal forms. Lively Discussions & Engaging Activities Educators trigger discussions by reading passages from selected books that link to the theme of put-downs. The Crumpled Heart activity provides a metaphorical representation of the impact of hurtful words or actions. Multimedia elements like video clips offer opportunities for whole group involvement, with each student counting instances of 'put-downs' in media content; this aims at increasing awareness about harmful remarks found in everyday media consumption. 'Tally Put-Down Homework' empowers children beyond classroom boundaries; students tally instances showcasing verbal or non-verbal put-downs from TV shows or books they interact with at home. Included Handouts & Focus Areas This PowerPoint-based package includes three detailed handouts catering to different learning styles while encouraging active participation during class activities and quiet times alike. Under special resources, the plan focuses explicitly on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). The Put-Down SEL Lesson integrates dynamic teaching techniques geared towards creating an inclusive environment fostering empathy among students - making it a valuable addition to the repertoire for public school teachers and homeschoolers alike. Multiplication Charts: 3rd Grade 4th Grade 5th Grade 6th Grade
Special Resources, Math, Early Math, Multiplication and Division, Division, Special Education Needs (SEN), Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, Charts, Teacher Tools

These multiplication charts or times table grids start out with a standard 10 by 10 grid that teachers and students might be familiar with. Then, level by level, a single times table is taken away each time. I suggest teaching a mini-lesson or spending a class on each separate times table until you believe that your student or students comprehend how to calculate its facts. - 1: one times any number is that number - 10: add a zero when multiplying by ten - 2: double a number or count by twos - 5: count by fives & ends in 5 or 0 - 3: count by threes - 9: use the nine times finger trick - 4: double double This leaves just 6 times tables facts left for students to memorize: (6x6, 6x7, 6x8, 7x7, 7x8, and 8x8) You can print any number of the grids for your students to use (that way you can adapt for each student's unique needs). If you feel confident that your student knows his or her 1 and 10 tables, print them a chart without those facts so they can challenge themselves to recall them. This supports students as they work toward multiplication mastery step by step! What's Included: 9 Page PDF - 8 levelled multiplication grids in pastel colors - 8 levelled multiplication grids in B&W Grades to Use With: These could be useful in grade 3 as students start to learn their times tables. They could also be a handy tool for students in older grades who have IEPs that call for math adaptations or accommodations.
