Probability Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Probability Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Probability Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this probability vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our math unit. The kids could say "maybe" or "probably" but had no idea what words like certain, likely, unlikely, or impossible meant in math class. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like probability, certain, impossible, likely, unlikely, equally likely, chance, event, outcome, predict, fraction, percent, possible, random, and experiment. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the probability terms finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the probability of flipping heads on a coin is 1/2 or 50%. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple spinner, dice, and coin drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the probability of rolling a 3 on a six-sided die on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The kids could see light everywhere but had no idea how it traveled or why a straw looks bent in a glass of water. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like light, shadow, reflection, refraction, absorption, transparent, translucent, opaque, prism, rainbow, lens, focus, mirror, beam, and ray. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a window is transparent or translucent. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple light ray and prism drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a picture showing reflection and one showing refraction on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Trees and Their Parts word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this trees and their parts puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our plants unit. The kids could point to a tree but had no clue what roots, trunks, branches, or leaves actually did. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like roots, trunk, branches, leaves, bark, cambium, sap, crown, and photosynthesis. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary sink in. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is great for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up "branches" and "bark" sometimes. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple leaf and tree drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick a tree part and write what it does for the tree on the back. The kids actually enjoy these.

Mental Health Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this mental health puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our health and wellness unit. The kids could talk about being happy or sad but had no idea what words like emotion, stress, or coping meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like emotion, feeling, happy, sad, angry, worried, scared, stress, calm, relax, breathe, coping, strategy, talk, share, listen, friend, family, teacher, counselor, help, safe, and healthy. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the mental health vocabulary finally stick in a gentle way. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether it's okay to feel angry sometimes. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple smiley face, calm cloud, and breathing drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one coping strategy they can use when feeling stressed on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
