Equity and Fairness word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Equity and Fairness word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Equity and Fairness word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this equity and fairness puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could say "that's not fair" but had no idea what words like equity, equal, or fair meant when we talked about giving everyone what they need. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like fair, unfair, equity, equal, need, help, deserve, share, differences, and kindness. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the equity vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether equal and fair mean the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple balance scale, heart, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one way to make the classroom more fair on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Properties of Matter word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this properties of matter puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our physical science unit. The kids could describe an object as big or heavy but didn't know words like density, texture, or conductivity. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like property, color, shape, size, texture, hardness, flexibility, absorbency, density, buoyancy, magnetism, conductivity, solubility, mass, and volume. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a rock floats or sinks and why. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple magnifying glass and scale drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one object in the room and list three of its properties on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Oceans of the World word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this oceans of the world puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our geography unit. The kids could name the ocean we live near but had no idea there were five oceans or what they were called. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, Arctic, ocean, sea, saltwater, current, tide, wave, continent, equator, and depth. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the ocean names stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over which ocean is the biggest or coldest. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple wave and globe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list the five oceans in order of size on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
