Whole-book units
Nine characters, six key settings and all twenty-one chapters of Roald Dahl's Matilda each get a labeled blank to fill in as students read. A general-information section opens the packet with blanks for the author, original language and genre, followed by lined space to describe Matilda Wormwood, Miss Honey, Miss Trunchbull and six other named characters, then six settings such as Crunchem Hall Primary School and the Wormwood house. A chapter-by-chapter page follows, providing lined sections across all twenty-one chapters for a running summary. The packet closes with eleven writing prompts, from a personal book review to analytical questions on themes of power, courage and the value Dahl places on reading, plus a first-person letter written from Matilda's point of view.
