Grade 6 Argumentative Writing word search, scramble and crossword puzz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Grade 6 Argumentative Writing word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this argumentative writing puzzle set for my 6th graders during our writing unit. The kids could state a position but had no idea what words like claim, counterargument, or rebuttal meant when we started learning how to write an argument essay. They also kept mixing up "argument" and "persuasion." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like claim, evidence, reasoning, counterargument, rebuttal, audience, thesis, support, conclusion, fact, opinion, and call to action . I also threw in a few like "credible" and "source" because they kept coming up when we talked about finding good evidence . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "counterargument" (it's a tricky one) or whether a claim is the same as an opinion (it's not—they always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have an argumentative writing anchor chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the structure of an argument . I added a couple simple speech bubble and scale drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 6th through 7th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a claim about a school topic and one reason to support it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Stars and Constellations word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this stars and constellations puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our space unit. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like star, constellation, Orion, Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Polaris, galaxy, Milky Way, telescope, astronomer, nebula, and supernova. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "constellation" or mix up Ursa Major and Minor. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple star dot drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a simple constellation on the back and name it. Letter X word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Letter X word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Letter X Word Scramble Worksheet Hey teachers! Here's a hands-on word scramble I use with my kindergarteners when we're learning about the letter X. This 2-page printable has 12 age-appropriate words that start or end with X - like "fox," "box," and "xylophone." I made these scrambles extra friendly for little hands: Big, clear fonts Picture clues next to tougher words Only horizontal orientation (no diagonal/backwards) Short words (3-5 letters max) We use this during our letter X week in three ways: Morning table work (with magnetic letters to help) Small group activity (I read the words aloud first) Take-home practice (parents love the included answer key) The kids especially like the picture hints for words like "x-ray" (I drew a simple bone) and "ax" (a cartoon woodcutter's tool). Last year, my class begged to do it twice - once with crayons, once with stamps! Words included: • Six (easy) • Mix (medium) • Xylem (challenge - with plant picture) Format: PDF with: Page 1: Main activity (12 scrambles + pictures) Page 2: Answer key and teaching tips Pro tip: Have kids "x" each word with a different color after solving!

Growth Mindset word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this growth mindset puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids would say "I can't do math" but had no idea they could say "I can't do math yet." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like growth, mindset, yet, try, fail, learn, mistake, challenge, practice, effort, improve, smart, brain, stretch, goal, and believe. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the growth mindset vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether making mistakes helps you learn. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple brain, plant growing, and lightbulb drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers rewrite "I'm not good at spelling" with a growth mindset sentence on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. The graphics are designed to be appropriate for the target audience. ⭐ The students in the class find these items enjoyable. They work on them in groups during the morning session, or they are provided to students who complete their work early to occupy their time. The word search activity has also been utilized as a quiet activity following recess. The word scramble activity often initiates discussions, such as the correct form of the word "recycle." The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.
