It's a simple 2-page activity with 24 tree-related words that get kids excited about planting and caring for trees. You'll find basic terms like "leaf" and "acorn" mixed up with more challenging words like "sapling" and "arboretum." When we used this during our tree-planting unit, I was surprised how quickly the kids got into it. They loved racing to unscramble "photosynthesis" while eating their snacks under our classroom maple tree. The worksheet includes practical words we actually use when studying trees - "bark," "canopy," even "mulch" for those doing garden projects. Vegetables Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this vegetables vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our health and nutrition unit. The kids could name a few vegetables like carrots and corn, but they had no idea what words like broccoli, spinach, or zucchini meant when we talked about different types of vegetables. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like carrot, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, corn, pea, bean, potato, sweet potato, tomato, cucumber, onion, pepper, and zucchini. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vegetable vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable (it's a fruit, botanically, but we eat it like a vegetable). The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple carrot, broccoli, and tomato drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite vegetable on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "favorite" or whether "sister" and "brother" are different. The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have pictures of family members and pets nearby for the kids who need visual support. I added a couple simple happy face, house, and family stick figure drawings but nothing too busy. Works for Pre-K through 1st grade. Print and go. Grade 8 World History Modern Era word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this modern era world history puzzle set for my 8th graders during our end-of-year review unit. The kids had a basic grasp of the big events, but they kept mixing up the revolutions of the late 18th century with the global conflicts of the 20th century, and they could never remember whether the Industrial Revolution came before or after the French Revolution . They also struggled with terms like "imperialism," "nationalism," and "totalitarianism," which are essential for understanding the period's long-term consequences . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using key vocabulary spanning the late modern period, from the American and French Revolutions (both 1776 and 1789) to the Cold War, and covering the big "isms" that shaped it, including nationalism, imperialism, communism, fascism, and totalitarianism . I also included terms that connect the era's driving forces, like "industrialization," "urbanization," and "globalization," alongside specific technologies like "telegraph," "railroads," and "steamships," plus major ideological movements like "feminism" and "socialism" . Nothing fancy—just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "totalitarianism" or whether the American Revolution should be grouped with the French Revolution (the kids from the U.S. always have opinions about that one). Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one event from the puzzles and write a sentence explaining why it was important on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
