Homophone Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Homophone Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Homophone Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this homophones puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our vocabulary unit. The kids were constantly mixing up words like "there," "their," and "they're" in their writing. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like there/their/they're, to/too/two, here/hear, see/sea, right/write, know/no, read/red, ate/eight, flour/flower, knight/night, mail/male, pair/pear, peace/piece, sale/sail, week/weak, and where/wear. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the homophones finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "bear" and "bare" sound the same. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple ear, eye, and flower drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a sentence using one homophone pair on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puz

Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this weather instruments puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our weather unit. The kids could tell me if it was sunny or rainy, but they had no idea what instruments like thermometer , barometer , or anemometer were used for, or how they measured things like temperature, pressure, and wind speed . They kept mixing up which instrument measured what, and they always asked whether a weather vane and a wind sock were the same thing . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like thermometer, barometer, anemometer, wind vane, rain gauge, hygrometer, weather balloon, satellite, radar, wind sock, and weather station. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of anemometer (it's a tricky one) or whether a barometer and a thermometer are the same thing (they're not—they always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have simple diagrams of each instrument and what they measure (temperature, pressure, wind speed, humidity, rainfall) nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the differences . I added a couple simple thermometer, rain gauge, and wind vane drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one instrument and write a sentence about what it measures on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the empathy and kindness vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether empathy means feeling sorry for someone. The crossword I use for partners. Fashion and Design Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this fashion and design careers puzzle set for my 4th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids could name a few jobs like fashion designer and model, but they had no idea about the other careers that make the fashion industry work—like pattern maker, textile designer, stylist, and fashion marketer—or what words like sketch, fabric, pattern, or runway meant when we talked about how clothes are created from idea to sale. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like fashion designer, stylist, photographer, fabric, pattern maker, merchandiser, sales, and marketing. I also made sure to include "textile" and "runway" because they kept coming up in our conversations about how fashion is shown to the world. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a fashion designer and a stylist or whether a pattern maker is an artist or a technician. National Parks word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this national parks puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our geography and nature unit. The kids had heard of Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, but they had no idea there were over 60 national parks or what words like geyser, canyon, or wildlife meant when we talked about the incredible landscapes and animals you can find there . I also wanted to introduce them to a few specific parks like Acadia, Zion, and the Great Smoky Mountains . They kept asking questions like “What’s the tallest mountain in the park?” or “Are there really wolves in Yellowstone?” so I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words that help the vocabulary finally stick . The PDF is four pages—three puzzles plus one answer key. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell “Yellowstone” or whether “geyser” is a type of rock or a hot spring . I added a couple simple beanstalk and castle drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. The graphics are designed to be appropriate for the target audience. ⭐ The students in the class find these items enjoyable. They work on them in groups during the morning session, or they are provided to students who complete their work early to occupy their time. The word search activity has also been utilized as a quiet activity following recess. The word scramble activity often initiates discussions, such as the correct form of the word "recycle." The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.

Dance Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this dance vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our movement and dance unit. The kids could move to music but had no idea what words like rhythm, balance, or choreography meant when I tried to teach them basic dance concepts. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like dance, rhythm, beat, tempo, choreography, formation, balance, flexibility, movement, leap, turn, spin, slide, stomp, clap, partner, group, performance, and stage. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the dance vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or PE. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether choreography is just planning a dance or actually doing it. The crossword I use for partners or as a review before a performance. I added a couple simple dancer silhouette and musical note drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one dance move they learned on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Myth and Legend Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this myth and legend vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our reading unit. The kids loved stories about gods and heroes but had no idea what words like myth, legend, or hero meant when we talked about different types of traditional stories. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like myth, legend, hero, god, goddess, quest, monster, adventure, ancient, and creature. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the myth and legend vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a myth is true or not. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple lightning bolt, shield, and monster drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a short myth using three words from the puzzle on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
