Culinary Arts Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Culinary Arts Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Culinary Arts Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this culinary arts careers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our career exploration and home economics unit. The kids loved talking about food and cooking, but they had no idea that chefs, bakers, and food stylists are real careers or that words like "knife skills" and "plating" matter so much. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like chef, baker, pastry chef, caterer, sous chef, line cook, food stylist, nutritionist, dietitian, and restaurant manager. I also made sure to include "mis en place" because the kids loved saying it, and "flavor profile" because it's a great conversation starter about food science. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a chef and a cook or whether a food stylist is a real job. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched a few short career videos. I added a couple simple chef hat, rolling pin, and whisk drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one culinary career from the puzzles and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Long Vowel Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Long Vowel Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this long vowel words puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our phonics unit. The kids could read short vowel words but got confused when the same vowel made a different sound like in "cake" versus "cat." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like cake, bake, lake, make, take, name, game, same, time, like, bike, kite, five, nine, home, hope, rope, note, use, cute, tube, cube, tree, see, bee, feet, meet, boat, coat, road, soap, and rain. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the long vowel patterns finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "rain" has the long a sound. The crossword I use for partners with picture clues. I added a couple simple cake, bike, tree, and boat drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list one long vowel word for each vowel on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Grade 6 Ratios and Proportions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this ratios and proportions puzzle set for my 6th graders during our math unit. The kids could compare quantities but had no idea what words like ratio, proportion, or equivalent meant when we started using the vocabulary. They also kept mixing up "part to part" and "part to whole." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like ratio, proportion, compare, relationship, part to part, part to whole, equivalent, scale, cross multiply, fraction, colon, for every, per, constant, and rate . I also included a few like "scale factor" and "unit rate" because they kept coming up in our class discussions . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "proportion" (it's a tricky one) or whether 2:3 is the same as 4:6 (it is—they always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a ratio table or double number line nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the relationships . I added a couple simple fruit bowl and mixing paint drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 6th through 7th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a ratio comparing boys to girls in the class on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Romeo and Juliet word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Romeo and Juliet Word Scramble Worksheet Hey fellow English teachers! Here's a Shakespeare word scramble I use every year with my freshmen when we study Romeo and Juliet . It's a 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled terms from the play - perfect for getting students familiar with the language before we start reading. You'll find: Character names (Juliet, Mercutio, Nurse) Key places (Verona, Capulet, tomb) Important items (dagger, poison, letter) Shakespearean terms (feud, balcony, prologue) I made the difficulty vary - some easy ones like "love" and "rose" mixed with tougher words like "apothecary" and "banishment." Last year, my students competed in teams to unscramble the most words in 10 minutes - they got so into it! Great for: Act 1 introduction Post-reading review Substitute lesson plans Extra credit Page 1 has all scrambled words in a clear font. Page 2 is your answer key - I keep a stack of these pre-printed in my emergency sub folder. Pro tip: Have students star any words they don't know - we turn these into vocabulary cards later! Words included: balcony friar quart feud (plus 20 more - all from the actual play) Format: Ready-to-print PDF (2 pages) What works: My students always remember "apothecary" better after unscrambling it!

Flag word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Flag word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Flag Word Scramble Worksheet Hey teachers! Here's a hands-on flag word scramble I use with my 4th graders during social studies. This 2-page printable has 24 terms about flags that kids in grades 3-6 will enjoy unscrambling. You'll find simple words like "pole" and "cloth" mixed with trickier ones like "emblem" and "banner" to keep it interesting. I made this last Veterans Day when we were studying national symbols. The kids had fun racing to unscramble words while we waited for our assembly to start. The worksheet uses a clean layout with big letters that are easy to read. Great for: Flag Day activities Social studies centers Patriotic holiday lessons Morning warm-ups First page has the scrambled words. Second page is your answer key - super helpful when you need to check work fast. Some of my students work in teams, while others like trying it alone first. I picked words kids actually encounter when learning about flags: colors, stripes, symbols, plus special terms like "canton" and "halyard." Last year, my class had a great discussion about what "vexillology" means! Just hit print and you're ready to go. I like using red, white, and blue paper when we do this for Memorial Day. Sample words: stars (easy) hoist (medium) pennant (challenge) Format: PDF (2 pages - game + answers) Teacher tip: Have students underline their toughest word to share with the class!

Basic Spanish Greetings word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this basic Spanish greetings puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our Spanish unit. The kids could say hello in English but had no idea what words like hola, adiós, or gracias meant when we started learning Spanish greetings. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like hola, adiós, gracias, por favor, de nada, buenos días, buenas tardes, buenas noches, ¿cómo estás?, bien, mal, and hasta luego. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish greeting vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "buenos días" is used before or after noon. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple waving hand and smiley face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write three Spanish greetings they can use in class on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Canada Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Canada Day vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our July unit. The kids loved the holiday but had no idea what words like Canada, maple leaf, or confederation meant when we learned about our neighbor to the north. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Canada, July, confederation, maple leaf, beaver, moose, flag, red, white, celebration, parade, fireworks, and Ottawa. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Canada Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the maple leaf is on the flag or just a symbol. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple maple leaf, flag, and beaver drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one fact about Canada on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
