The kids loved talking about food and cooking, but they had no idea that chefs, bakers, and food stylists are real careers or that words like "knife skills" and "plating" matter so much. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like chef, baker, pastry chef, caterer, sous chef, line cook, food stylist, nutritionist, dietitian, and restaurant manager. I also made sure to include "mis en place" because the kids loved saying it, and "flavor profile" because it's a great conversation starter about food science. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a chef and a cook or whether a food stylist is a real job. Flag word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Flag Word Scramble Worksheet Hey teachers! Here's a hands-on flag word scramble I use with my 4th graders during social studies. This 2-page printable has 24 terms about flags that kids in grades 3-6 will enjoy unscrambling. You'll find simple words like "pole" and "cloth" mixed with trickier ones like "emblem" and "banner" to keep it interesting. I made this last Veterans Day when we were studying national symbols. The kids had fun racing to unscramble words while we waited for our assembly to start. The worksheet uses a clean layout with big letters that are easy to read. Basic Spanish Greetings word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this basic Spanish greetings puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our Spanish unit. The kids could say hello in English but had no idea what words like hola, adiós, or gracias meant when we started learning Spanish greetings. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like hola, adiós, gracias, por favor, de nada, buenos días, buenas tardes, buenas noches, ¿cómo estás?, bien, mal, and hasta luego. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish greeting vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "buenos días" is used before or after noon. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple waving hand and smiley face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write three Spanish greetings they can use in class on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Canada, July, confederation, maple leaf, beaver, moose, flag, red, white, celebration, parade, fireworks, and Ottawa.
