Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Husband Appreciation Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Husband Appreciation Day Word Scramble Worksheet I made this fun word scramble for my third graders to take home before Husband Appreciation Day last year. It's a simple 2-page printable with 24 scrambled words about family and appreciation - things like "helpful," "grill," and "laughter." The words range from easy ("love") to a bit harder ("awesome") so kids of different ages can enjoy it. I printed them on blue and gray paper to look nice for dads. My students had the best time practicing the words in class before taking the sheets home to surprise their dads. You get: • Page 1: The word scramble activity • Page 2: Answer key for parents Great for: Sending home as a sweet family activity Using during your family unit Morning work the week of Husband Appreciation Day I chose words kids actually use about their dads - "funny," "strong," "hero" - not just fancy words. Last year, one of my students circled "coach" because her dad helps her soccer team, which started a whole class discussion! Format: Basic PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students draw a heart next to their favorite word about their dad!

Place Value Hundreds word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Place Value Hundreds word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this place value hundreds puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our math unit. The kids understood tens and ones but got lost when I introduced the hundreds place. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like hundreds, tens, ones, place, value, digit, thousand, expanded form, standard form, word form, base ten, block, flat, rod, unit, and period. Examples include 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and numbers like 134, 256, 379, 482, 507, 610, 745, 893, and 999. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the three-digit place value finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about what the zero in 507 stands for. The crossword I use for partners with base ten block clues. I added a couple simple flat square, stick, and dot drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the expanded form of 462 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Bilingual English-Spanish Body Parts word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this bilingual body parts puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our dual language unit. The kids could name body parts in English but had no idea what words like cabeza, mano, or pie meant in Spanish. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like cabeza/head, mano/hand, pie/foot, ojos/eyes, nariz/nose, boca/mouth, orejas/ears, brazo/arm, pierna/leg, and rodilla/knee. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the body part vocabulary finally stick in both languages. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "pie" means foot or dessert. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple body outline and face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers label three body parts in both languages on a drawing on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Spelling Patterns -tion-sion word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this spelling patterns puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our word study unit. The kids could read words like "nation" and "television" but had no idea when to use -tion versus -sion. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using -tion words like nation, action, attention, direction, fiction, fraction, mention, option, question, and vacation, and -sion words like television, division, decision, explosion, invasion, mission, passion, permission, session, and vision. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the spelling patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "discussion" ends with -sion or -tion. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple star and pencil drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two -tion words and two -sion words on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Food from Around the World word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Food from Around the World word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this food from around the world vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our global studies unit. The kids loved trying new foods and always asked where their favorite dishes came from, but they had no idea what words like sushi, curry, or paella meant when we talked about food from different cultures. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like sushi, curry, paella, tacos, pizza, pasta, dumplings, falafel, hummus, kimchi, baguette, croissant, nachos, barbecue, and dessert. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the global food vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which country invented pizza (Italy) or whether tacos are from Mexico or the US. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've looked at pictures of food from different cultures. I added a couple simple pizza, taco, and sushi drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one food from the puzzles and write its country of origin on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Jungle Animals Crossword Puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Crosswords Puzzles, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
This crossword puzzle is about recognizing jungle animals and spelling their names correctly. This crossword is suitable for 3rd-7th graders as part of their biology lessons or as a fun holiday activity ! As some of the animals may not be familiar to every student, I would recommend doing this crossword in small groups or with a pair, but you can use this for individual work, too. This is a print and go resource that includes answers. Students have to recognize the animals from drawn pictures and then name them in the horizontal rows of the crossword one letter at the time. This also helps to practice the correct spelling of these rainforest animals. When the students fill the crossword correctly, they will find a hidden message from the emphasized vertical row. The hidden message is: Tropical Rainforest. The animals in this crossword live in tropical environments in different continents (South America, Africa and Asia). Some of the animals also live in other habitats in addition to the tropical climate. The animals in this crossword are: Anteater, scorpion, dragonfly, piranha, okapi, capybara, orangutan, lemur, tiger, tarsier, iguana, mandrill, kingfisher, baboon, gorilla, chameleon, sloth, coati. If you like this crossword, check out my Teach Simple page for other crosswords: https://teachsimple.com/contributor/thebrightestkid There are some crosswords for biology and more for spelling and languages. The crosswords are usually available in English, Spanish and French (there are not exactly the same animals in different languages, but most of them are the same). This crossword is self-checking in the way that a meaningful hidden message will signal the students that they have most likely done it right. Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Themes: Biology, vocabulary, cultural activities* Number of students per crossword: 1-4 Preparation: Printing Suitable for: Classroom work, homework, for substitute teacher. Answers: Included *especially if used together with versions of the crossword in different languages

Easter Monday word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Easter Monday Word Scramble Worksheet Here's a word scramble activity I created for my 3rd grade class to use after Easter weekend. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 holiday-themed words that kids enjoy unscrambling. The worksheet includes: Common Easter words like "bunny" and "egg" Spring terms like "bloom" and "grass" Celebration words like "hunt" and "basket" I made different difficulty levels: Easy: "hop" (3 letters) Medium: "chick" (5 letters) Harder: "resurrection" (11 letters) Last year, my students did this: As a quiet morning activity after the holiday In pairs during our spring party While waiting for our egg drop experiment Page 1 has the scrambled words with space for answers. Page 2 is the answer key - I keep this on my clipboard to check work quickly. The words match what kids actually experience during Easter: "chocolate" (always popular!) "lily" (we grow these in class) "parade" (our town has one) Format: PDF (2 pages) Tip: Have students draw a small picture next to 3 words they unscramble!

African Culture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
African Culture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this African culture vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social studies and cultural unit. The kids could name a few African countries but had no idea what words like Adinkra, djembé, or kente meant when we started learning about the rich and diverse cultures of Africa. I wanted to introduce them to a few key ideas like oral tradition, symbolic art, and the importance of community without making it feel like a lecture . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Africa , culture , tradition , oral history , griot (storyteller), kente (traditional cloth), djembé (drum), Sahara (desert), Nile (river), savanna , and community . For the culture terms, I drew on resources that highlighted concepts like Ubuntu (the idea of interconnectedness) and practices like scarification and ceremonial objects like the nkisi power figure and the Oba (king of Benin), although I kept it simple for this age group . I also pulled a few Swahili words like Jambo (hello) and Kwaheri (goodbye) because they're fun for the kids to learn . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the cultural and geographical vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the Nile is the longest river in the world. The crossword I use for partners or as a review . I added a couple simple djembe and kente pattern drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their own Adinkra symbol or write one thing they learned about a country in Africa on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Students will color, cut, and assemble their own Valentine-themed crowns while practicing fine motor skills and following simple directions. The designs are kid-friendly and not overly detailed, making them easy for children to complete independently or with minimal support. This resource works especially well during Valentine’s Day classroom celebrations, party days, or themed learning weeks.
