National Walking Day word search puzzle worksheet activity National Walking Day Word Search - Get Moving! I made this word search for my 3rd graders last year when we celebrated National Walking Day (first Wednesday in April). It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 walking-related words hidden in all directions - basic terms like "steps" and "shoes" mixed with health words like "exercise" and "heart." After our morning walk around the school, we used this as a cool-down activity. The kids loved racing to find words while stretching at their desks. I printed the pages on bright blue paper to match our "healthy habits" theme. Each worksheet is represented in two different formats to accommodate students on different levels. Types of Pages: Each sentence includes one page for students to trace each sentence. Each sentence and paragraph page includes a worksheet for students to copy the sentence or passage on the lines. The paragraph includes worksheets with primary lines and standard lines. There are sheets to accommodate alternate spellings. How to Use: These worksheets are created so students can trace or copy the fall themed sentences or paragraphs. After tracing or copying the fall fact, the student can then color the picture at the top of the page. When to Use: Writing Center - These worksheets make a great addition to any writing center . Students can choose the sentence they wish to trace or copy and then color the included picture.
