Turn Thanksgiving nostalgia into a creative masterpiece with the A Special Thanksgiving Memory Writing Prompt! This activity invites kids to stroll down memory lane (or at least last year’s kitchen chaos) to write and draw about their favorite Thanksgiving moment. Whether it’s Grandma’s famous pumpkin pie, a hilarious turkey mishap, or the time Uncle Joe fell asleep mid-sentence, no memory is too big or small to make the cut. First, students will put their storytelling hats on, probably stretchy ones to accommodate post-Thanksgiving feast bellies, and write about a memory that makes them smile, laugh, or even drool a little. Was it the parade, a backyard football game, or sneaking the first bite of dessert? This writing prompt gets their creative juices flowing faster than cranberry sauce out of a can. Once the words are on the page, it’s time to bring the memory to life with a colorful drawing. Turkeys with personality, pies with sparkle, and family portraits (possibly featuring stick figures) turn the story into a visual masterpiece. This activity isn’t just fun, it’s a great way for kids to practice descriptive writing and reflect on what makes Thanksgiving truly special. Bonus: it’s calorie-free, but just as satisfying as a second helping of stuffing! Enjoy!

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Gothic and Halloween Cryptograms Looking for a fresh way to engage your students with classic literature? This puzzle collection for Mary Shelley's Frankenstein transforms a timeless Gothic masterpiece into an interactive, hands-on experience. It's designed to bring the chilling story and its complex themes to life, one code at a time. This resource is more than a simple set of puzzles; it’s a tool for fostering both critical thinking and creativity. The collection features 21 cryptograms, each centered around a key quote from Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus . Unlike traditional linear puzzles, these are circular designs with two bands of symbols woven around intricate Celtic knotwork. Students must use logical reasoning and pattern recognition to decode the messages. The puzzles are also a creative outlet. Once the code is broken, students can color the detailed Celtic knotwork, turning their solved puzzle into a personalized art piece. This blend of analytical and creative work appeals to a wide range of learning styles and makes the challenging themes of the novel more memorable. This collection is a powerful supplement for your literature curriculum. It encourages students to engage directly with the source material by deciphering genuine quotes from both Victor Frankenstein and his creation. The puzzles help develop advanced problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of cryptography. The included literary guide provides a synopsis and context for each quote, allowing students to explore the novel's core themes of creation, responsibility, and social isolation . They can analyze the complex relationship between creator and creation and delve into discussions on science, ethics, and humanity

Homeschooling high school is a whole different ball game. As a mom currently navigating 9th grade with my own daughter, I know the struggle: finding resources that are not 'childish' but also don't read like a dry college dissertation is tough. We want our teens to think critically about the world without being bored to tears. That is exactly why I created this High School Evolution of Earth Day Reading Passage. It actually started with my daughter asking how a simple protest turned into a global mandate—and honestly, I could not find a deep-dive rigorous enough for her curiosity. This is notjust another basic history worksheet. It is a comprehensive study built to sharpen paragraph-style writing and spark a real sense of environmental stewardship in our young adults. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: A rigorous text exploring Earth Day’s evolution from 1970 to today. Complex prompts requiring deep critical thinking and synthesis from the homeschooler. Model answers in paragraph-style format for academic benchmarking. 10 note-taking sheets to support various learning and retention styles. TOPICS COVERED: How Senator Nelson adapted anti-war tactics for environmentalism. Detailed look at the EPA, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act. The movement’s shift from a US protest to a 141-country mandate. Analysis of current themes and modern ecological challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to make your homeschooling journey just a little bit easier by providing a "done-for-you" lesson that does not sacrifice quality for convenience. Earth Day is such a pivotal moment in our modern history, and I believe our high schoolers deserve a curriculum that treats it with the depth it requires. I hope this High School Evolution of Earth Day Reading Passage r esource sparks some incredible dinner-table conversations in your home, just as it did in mine. Thank you for letting me be a small part of your homeschooler’s educational journey—we are in this together! By working through these materials, you are helping your teen build a bridge between historical knowledge and modern responsibility If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resource, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom

As a homeschool mom, I have been there, staring at a calendar and realizing two big holidays are coming up fast. It can be a real struggle to find something that goes beyond the usual sappy stuff and actually gives my 9th grader something substantial to chew on. That is why I created this High School The History of Mother & Father’s Day Bundle combo pack; I wanted a solid study that connects history to real life, helping him understand why we even celebrate these days while digging into some deep history, not just fluff. I think you will find this a great fit for your high schooler, too. This is not just another worksheet; it is a study into how two distinct movements turned into massive national phenomenons that truly shaped our culture. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: Two Detailed Reading Passages : High school appropriate texts for both Mother's & Father's Day. 20 Note-Taking & Q&A Sheets : Comprehensive prompts (10 for each holiday) that encourage deep analysis. Two Complete Answer Keys : Thorough guides for every question to make grading quick and easy. No-Prep Printables : Ready-to-use materials that save you hours of planning and preparation. TOPICS COVERED: Ancient Roots/Early Activism : From Rhea and Cybele to Ann Reeves Jarvis's "Work Clubs." Founding & Proclamation : The stories of Anna Jarvis and Sonora Smart Dodd's campaigns. Commercialism vs. Sentiment : The fight against florists and greeting card industries. Global Variations : How different cultures honor parents around the world. Ultimately, my hope is that this resource helps your high schooler see both Mother’s and Father’s Day through a much wider lens than just brunch, ties, and flowers. It is a unique opportunity to discuss history, social change, and the power of individuals to impact national culture. Finding that balance between genuine sentiment and the pressure of modern consumerism is a great life lesson for our teens to navigate. This High School The History of Mother & Father’s Day Bundle really helps them reflect on how to celebrate authentically by focusing on presence and personal effort over expensive material gifts. It has been a rewarding addition to our homeschool routine, and I am so happy to share it with your family. I truly hope your student/homeschooler finds the history as captivating as we did, and I would love to hear how it works out in your home! If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resource, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom
