This is a pack of 42 Phonic worksheets to teach the digraph 'ck', plus flashcards and a 2 no-prep GAMES! These worksheets are designed to be worked in order as they start by developing the child's phonemic awareness of the new sound in words, and progress to reading and spelling words with the new sound, to reading passages and writing a short dictation. These sheets are LETRS and UK GOV requirements aligned. These worksheets can be used with other phonic programmes provided that the pupil has the necessary phonic knowledge to complete them This pack of CK phonic worksheets presumes that children can bland CVC words and have a working knowledge of consonant blends, but may still need support to read and spell using them. These ckWorksheets can help all children in the class succeed, even the lower third and those with special needs, as their highly structured nature helps to reduce the burden on the working memory which leads to less frustration for the child. What makes these worksheets special? I have a powerful three-step process which I use with my special needs pupils, which is worked out over the course of the worksheets: 1. See it!where we focus on becoming aware of the new sound in words. This involves first hearing the new sound in words and then seeing it in words (tracking). 2. Sound-it-out!Having learnt to see the new sound in words, we learn to sound out these words to read and write them. We begin by usingsound-it-out boxesfor reading and spelling which help the child to segment the word prior to blending the sounds together. Once the child can read and write individual words, we work on fluency by building familiarity with the common words in the new sound family. Once the child can sound the words out to read and spell confidently, we move on to recognising them/using them in longer reading and dictation passages, as soon as the child is able. There are fluency triangles as well as 2 reading passages with comprehension exercises and one dictation passage, with a page in the workbook dedicated to it, with room for a picture, which again cements understanding. 3. Write it! Incorporated into the above two steps, we constantly write the new sound. This adds a multi-sensory dimension to our work - we see with our eyes, we sound it with our mouth parts and voice, and then we move by writing. All three steps work together to help the child feel in control of his/her learning and to become a successful, confident learner. We finish each sound with a dictation which culminates our work before we move on to the next sound. I try to give this a week after we finish the book, to act as revision. The dictation: Read this passage to your pupil, who should write it. Have the child read his/her work and check for errors. Make sure the writing is completely accurate before saying the child has finished, including full stops and capital letters correctly used. Two fun, no-prep games close the unit of work making learning fun and providing a non-threatening way for children to consolidate their learning. Read the book Do You Speak Fish by DJ Corchin and Dan Dougherty. A wonderful book about communicating, understanding others' perspectives,s and thinking about someone other than yourself. All you will need is a printer, dice, and game pieces. (And of course the book!) Honestly, the book is great for K-12 but this product is suitable for K-3. :)

This is a Make Numbers to 20 Worksheet . This is a 2 page printable for each student to complete. There are 5 columns on each of the pages. The columns consist of making 11 through making 20. There are 10 problems for students to complete in each column. Each problem follows the same sentence frame with a student having to complete the second number to complete the sum. At the bottom of the second page, there is a space for you to score this worksheet. A timer is included before the score. In order to accurately time track, you can: -Have a stopwatch running and displayed on the board for students to write down their own time when they finish. By doing it this way, you can have an entire class of students complete their worksheets at the same time. This will only work if students are old enough to understand tracking time. A great way to implement this is to model it many times with practice pages. -Complete this worksheet in small groups, a few students at a time, with the teacher or a paraprofessional. By doing it this way, you can give students attention and write their times down on your own. Making sure you have accurate times for students will allow you to implement this same worksheet repeatedly to measure and track growth. This can be a great data tracking tool if you are looking for something to assess fact fluency for basic addition.

This resource is a set of 36 task cards that asks students to determine if a mathematical statement is a sum, difference, product, or quotient. I've used these task cards for grades 6-8 to introduce, reinforce, or review the vocabulary termssum, difference, product, or quotient. An answer key is provided. A student recording sheet is provided. I encourage you to have students practice reading the questions out loud, justifying their answers verbally with a peer. This activity is great for both ELLs and native English speakers, and the use of peer interaction can help scaffold the activity for many types of diverse learners. Possible Ways to Use •Use as a scoot-style game, where a card is on every student desk and students rotate to a new desk every 30 seconds or so and record their answer. •Use as a verbal assessment , where you pull a task card and you have the student verbally answer and justify their thinking if needed. •Use for stations, where you have the students do each card verbally with a partner and also record the answer on the recording sheet. •Use as a “Footloose” style activity where the task cards are taped or placed in various places around the room and students wander around to record the answer to all of the task cards on the student recording sheet.
