Plants Alphabet Cards

Plants Alphabet Cards
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities, Flashcards, Worksheets & Printables, Games

These plants themed alphabet cards are perfect for students learning with a fun plants theme. They are a simple, engaging way to help students practice recognizing the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set of alphabet cards includes one capital letter and one lowercase letter card for each letter of the alphabet with a fun plant theme. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by pairing capital letters with their lowercase counterparts. Attach a paper clip to each letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to “catch” letters in a fun fishing game. Provide a sand or salt tray so students can practice writing the letters shown on each card. Hide the letter cards around the classroom and have students search for them during an exciting letter hunt. Have students place the cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket chart game by placing the cards in a pocket chart and hiding a picture behind one letter. Students guess which letter is hiding the picture. Add small objects or pictures that begin with each letter for students to match to the correct letter card. When to Use: Literacy Centers – Add the letter cards to a literacy center for students to practice matching independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets – Place the letter cards in a morning bin for students to work on as classmates arrive. Small Group Instruction – Use the letter cards during small group time to provide extra support for students who need additional practice recognizing the letters of the alphabet. Make letter recognition fun with these plant letter cards! This low-prep activity is easy for teachers to prepare. Teachers just simply print, cut, and laminate for durability. The letter cards fit perfectly in a task box for effortless setup, cleanup, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both letter recognition of capital and lowercase letters as well as identifying beginning sounds.

Physical Science Bell Ringers Unit 3 - 45 Daily Warm-Ups (Grades 6-8)

Physical Science Bell Ringers Unit 3 - 45 Daily Warm-Ups (Grades 6-8)
Physics, Science, Grade 6, 7, 8, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

These physical science bell-ringers give middle school students a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 3 gathers 45 short prompts on motion, forces & energy, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. Each day asks something different. Monday introduces a term and asks students to use it, not just recite it. Tuesday supplies two or three sentences of real science and a question that can only be answered by reading them. Wednesday poses an analysis problem or a short calculation, worked the way a scientist would work it. Thursday is a quick multiple-choice check a teacher can scan in seconds. Friday asks for a claim supported by evidence, which is the reasoning skill the standards care most about and the one students get the least practice with. That variety keeps a daily routine from going stale while still reinforcing motion and reference points, speed and velocity, acceleration and motion graphs, forces and Newton's first, second and third laws, gravity and friction, work, power and simple machines, and energy transformations. The quantitative prompts were written deliberately so that every answer resolves to a whole number, which keeps a warm-up to five minutes and keeps the key beyond dispute. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, prints two-sided so a full week fits on one sheet, and needs no student accounts, devices, or logins. A complete answer key covers all 45 prompts, and a standards page lists the NGSS middle school physical science codes and the CCSS literacy in science codes the set actually addresses. Designed for grades 6-8, the prompts work as a daily opener while attendance is taken, as an exit slip at the end of the period, as spiral review before a test, or as ready-made work to leave for a substitute. Teachers who want the whole course can buy the full-year set of 180 prompts, of which this unit is one quarter.
