Here is a fun pack of 26 Alphabet Coloring Pages: Color the Alphabet and Learn Beginning or Initial Sounds! This teaching resource includes 26 coloring worksheets designed to help young children (or those with a special need) become familiar with the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they stand for—the beginning sounds. Each page focuses on one alphabet letter: the children colour the large letter at the top of the page and say the 'etter's sound. Then, they must look for things that begin with that sound and color them. A challenge to make the sheets more beneficial: For every sound except 'A', every page contains a picture of one object that begins with the previous sound in the alphabet. Can the pupil find it? This ensures that the work is systematic and provides revision. Teaching tips: Pupils need to learn to hear the beginning sound of words, not just learn the sounds made by the letters. To this end: Help the child, if necessary, by emphasising the beginning sound: you can hold onto it until to help the child hear it.
