Bedtime Routine Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this bedtime routine puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our daily life unit. The kids could tell me what they did before bed but had no idea how to sequence the steps or what words like pajamas, story, or lights out meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like brush teeth, wash face, put on pajamas, read a story, say goodnight, turn off lights, cozy, sleep, dream, and cuddle. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the bedtime routine vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a story is always part of bedtime. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple bed, book, and moon drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write their bedtime routine in order on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
